I sent a e-mail to everyone (except Tom and Ross who I PM'd to tell them I don't have an e-mail address for them) a map of the gameboard I found on BoardGameGeek and a "map" (is an embarrassing grid of rectangles a map?). If you didn't get it, let me know.
Also, when battles involve opposing forces of different sizes, use the victory chart column for the size of game based on the size of the larger force. This should give the smaller force a bit of an edge to help offset being outnumbered.

With the store closing early tonight (1/28) it doesn't make sense for us to really do any campaigning.
Turn Two moves are due by next Thursday, Feb 4th. I will plan to be at the store between 4 and 5 so we can plot them out on the map and see what battles are up for the week.
TURN 2 is the "Age of Discovery" turn. Army organization in the old world has been limited to 500, 1000, and 2000 point forces. But now, thanks to a startling new discovery, the concept of 1500 point forces is all the rage. Each race is taking credit for this amazing breakthrough.
The Dwarfs claim that Miller Litebeard staggered out of the local inn late one evening and tripped over the number 1500 - "It was just laying there on the ground!" he said. The Dark Elves claim to have tortured the numbers 500 and 1000 until they agreed to combine. Lizardmen claim it is part of the knowledge of the Ancients. Empire scientists labored on it for years. Vampires counted it. Chaos claims to have been worshiping it all along. The Ogres of Gaul just want to know if they can eat it.
So, mark up a new counter! Beginning with turn two you can field a 1,500 point force. This does not change the maximum of 2,000 points that you can put on the board each turn. It just gives you one more way to divide up those 2,000 points.

Is it too late to throw my dusty high elves into the ring?

Drew, consider yourself thrown! PM me with an e-mail address and I will send you some info to get you started. There just happen to be four "Free Territories" left at the end of Turn One and so you are now the proud owner of those four - Sarmatia, Varangia, Graecia, and Poseidonis. Using my random number generating device (aka my wife), Sarmatia is your home territory.

END OF TURN ONE:
Check you e-mail for the chart showing the status at the end of Turn One. It does not include the late entry High Elves of Droo-Fus. They now own the four white territories designated as "Free Territories" on the chart. The High Elves also have 1 point (a Political Point).
We are up to 10 players now. Tom's Ogres got active and marched their way down the Italian boot. Sean's Skaven have emerged from their underworld to seize a territory on every land mass. And the above mentioned High Elves make ten. We can get the three of them to make their bonus points choices on Thursday.
Here is a question for the group: I set up the victory points for Political Influence (one point each turn for every three territories you control) back when we were looking at 6 players. Now that we have 10 (and 42 total territories) it is much more unlikely that anyone can get more than one PI victory point per turn. I know people have already made their bonus choices. So, leave it as is or change it to one point for every two?

Just a reminder that now every territory is controlled by someone, every territory has a built in defensive PI marker on it. It takes at least two PI markers to take over a territory.

How does Sunday, March 28th work as a date for our ending Megabattle? It is Palm Sunday but that might be better than trying to do it on Easter Sunday.
