I've got plenty of units, just not many painted. My last gaming group traded and changed armies so often we always played with unpainted or sometimes white/black based models. Except maybe slaves, I might need to borrow to fill out some slave units.
I'll be in that first Saturday after the 8th, the 13th I think it is.
edit - Just noticed the 40K 'Ard Boyz tourney is that day. Maybe better to postpone my appearance until the 20th?
edit again - Apparently I'm busy on Sept 13th, I'll be in on the 20th for my first game.

Here are some thought about organizing the league from the resident "old fart" who also happens to lean toward the structured end of the spectrum:
Lets think in terms of games played instead of weeks? We start at 1000 points and end at 2200, adding 200 points for each game. That is a total of 7 games we need to play. So, between Sept 8th and, say, Nov 2nd, we need to play 7 games - one game at each point level. A new scenario comes out only once per week so we can't play ahead but, if we get behind then we can catch up by playing a couple of games when we can finally make it into the store. Going to Nov 2nd gives us 8 weeks to get in 7 games. We could go longer, I just used that date because I think Carnage is the following weekend??
(EDIT - Oooops. Just noticed the announcement on the store's homepage. Guess the league goes through Nov 16th. That gives us 10 weeks for 7 games.)
I would suggest bonus points each time you play a new opponent. Say, 5 points every time you play someone you have not played in a league game before? This would encourage us all to play as many different opponents as possible.
Scoring - How about differentiating the different levels of victory. Something like this:
Loss 5 points Draw 9 points Marginal Victory 11 points Solid Victory 13 points Massacre 15 points
Missions - Lets try to use the fantasy tournament scenarios as a template or model for what we each design. Up to three extra bonus points or 3 negative bonus points only? Obviously, the point to the missions should be to make them fair, balanced, and fun. Of course, we can add a bit of edge to it that is a little self-serving. When I do my mission we are having some WATER on the table maybe??? Lizardmen like water and there almost never is any around!
If we do something like this, we probably need a half-page score sheet listing our names, point level, opponent, total points, etc??
Just some thoughts. What do people think??

Well you can count me in for this as well. The Druchii shall march forth and we shall face all comers. See you on the battlefield.

Going to Nov 2nd gives us 8 weeks to get in 7 games. We could go longer, I just used that date because I think Carnage is the following weekend?? I like this a lot. I would also add a "spoiler" bonus. Say, 3 extra points each time you beat an opponent who is playing their first game. That way you'd have an incentive to play someone, even if you've already played your game for that point level. The catch would be that you'd have to use the army you used at that point value. Customizing lists to opponent = lame! I'm not sure that people should get different scores for magnitude of victory but not magnitude of defeat. I'd go something like this: Massacred!: 1 point Solid loss: 3 points Marginal loss: 5 points .. Rest would be the same. That's an excellent rule of thumb. While I enjoy scoring 36 points in a single week, it's probably not a great thing for a league as the whole. Pretty good!

I agree with the idea of keeping the points low and the 7 games over the whole of the fall

I also like the idea of being able to get in make up games if you miss a week or so for whatever reason.

So far we seem to be overrun by elves. Looks like three Dark Elf armies and three High Elf. And, if Chuck goes for his Wood Elves, the unholy trinity will have been completed! As I recall, there are Lizardmen, Orks, Dwarfs, and Skaven also lurking out there.
