D&D 4th

Hey all, I'm new to the forums, but have stopped by Triple Play several times. I am posting to see if there is anyone interested in playing D&D 4th edition? I want to start up a campaign with the newest edition of the game, as it's pretty easy for all to get into. It is my hope to get a bi-weekly game night going, with a week night to start with and see if interest builds from there. I haven't been able to play nearly enough D&D over the last year and I would love to have a regular gaming group in the area.
Please post any thoughts or opinions on the idea and we'll go from there. Enjoy the day. -Antholin

I've been out of D&D for 20 years, but had a renewed interest when I saw 4th Ed. I have the three core books, Dragon Annual, Dungeon Delve, and about 100 minis. I also have both Dummies Guide (4th ED & Dungeon Master 4th ED). ...And I still haven't played a single game (after about a year).
This weekend at Carnage, there will be a Living Forgotten Realms event running the whole convention. I'm signed up for three slots and am looking forward to it. If you have the time you should come up to Fairlee for at least one of the days. I can't think of better D&D event in the area (unless you count Pax East in Boston).
I would love to get involved in a D&D campaign, but timing is rough with having two kids and all their various activities.
I recently picked up the Warhammer Island of Blood starter set and have been building up a Skaven army. This has scratched my fantasy itch nicely and has a big following at Triple Play.

Thanks for the replys. I'm glad to see that there is some interest in D&D 4th in the area. I am going to try and attend Carnage this weekend, but I did not have the opportunity to sign up for any events. I'm hoping to be able to jump into at least one LFR game and maybe even a game of 3rd or 3.5 if they're available.
I was initially thinking a Wednesday or Thursday night game to get the ball rolling. I am more than willing to DM and I have a lot of campaingns and/or delves that we can start with. Throw out some dates for this month and lets see if we can get together at Triple Play at least once for November.

You should email Carl (cgrivakis@gmail.com) and give him a heads up for LFR. It's easy to register on Warhorn and sign up for some events. Here's a link to the page: warhorn.net/carnage-rpga-2010/Jeff

Thanks for the info on LFR, I'm going to try and make it this weekend, and hopefully partake in a good D&D adventure.
Well, what do you guys think about the start of a campaign? I know that Carnage is going on this weekend. But, once everyone gets back and is rested up, I say that finalizing some plans for the start of a 4th edition D&D campaign get started. Throw some dates out and we'll see what works best for all.
Until next time, Antholin

This looks great. I am interested, but probably not during the week. I would be more interested in a weekend evening or afternoon.
I would suggest you try not to book the game for a Wednesday night, as Triple Play is booked solid on that night. There is a board game night every week and the L5R CCG every other Wednesday. Not alot of room left.
Good luck with getting a campaign going! If you start thinking about weekends... I might join in!

Hey there, I'd be pretty interested in a weeknight game. Would this be at Triple Play? I've got experience in playing and running 4e; have quite a lot of the rule books & am looking for a reason to re-up my subscription with Character Builder. I've got about 150 minis I can bring to the table too. The flip-side of the coin, though, is that I'll be overseas for the next two weeks, so the soonest I could do a mid-week game is the week after Thanksgiving.

Hey guys, Sorry for the late reply, but have been out of the area. I'll be checking with Triple Play this week to see what nights work best for setting up a D&D session. At this point, I'm guessing that first week of December will probably be the best time for most people due to T-Day next week. Also, I am going to run a dungeon delve for at least the first session. This is a quick one shot adventure and will hopefully generate interest, get people at the table and then a campaign can get started from there.
Talk with you guys soon.

Hey all, I spoke with Tony at Triple Play and it looks like Thursday evening might shape up to be the best time. With that in mind, I'm planning the first event for Thursday, December 9th, from 5:30PM-8PM. That should give enough time to get familiarized with the characters and play through a delve.
I'll be posting more info before hand and will also put up a flyer at Triple Play. Let me know how this looks and we'll go from there. See you at the table.

Hey John & anyone else interested, Unfortunately I will be away next week on training for my new job and will be unable to do the event on the 9th. However, I will be able to the following Thursday, the 16th.
So, the 16th will be the new date for the D&D Delve Night, same time starting at 6PM, meeting around 5:30 for pre-roll info. I will be providing a selection of characters for the adventure. I will also post any new info that may arise.

Jeff, I'm glad to see you take the initiative (haha... DnD Joke) here and get this started. I'll add this to my calendar and try to make it. What level character should I bring?
Is this one of your own delves or one from Dungeon Delve (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Product.aspx?x=dnd/products/dndacc/9780786951390)?

Hey all, I will have pre-made characters for the adventure. It will be out of the Dungeon Delve book. I've run it before and had a blast with it, so I'm sure for whoever shows up, we should have a good time of it.
I have been out of town the last two weeks, training for a new gig and have been unable to put up a flyer at Triple Play. But, I should have one up tomorrow and hopefully get at least 3 or 4 people to attend. I want to run one next month as well, regardless of the turn out for this week.
Well, see you all at the table. If there are any other questions, just let me know.

How did the Dungeon Delve go last night? Sorry I didn't make it. I'm traveling to Michigan for two weeks and I have just too many things to pack and take care of.
Hopefully after the Holidays I will have more free time.
