Hey Jeff, The delve night went great. Had three people show up and we got through most of the adventure and had a blast doing it. The group worked well together and I'm going to try and get a group up and running. Hoping to meet within the first two weeks of January. I will post when a date gets confirmed. Have a good one.

The game went well! All told, there were 3 players plus the GM (Jeff) and one self-ascribed commentator (Matt). We only got through the first encounter by closing time. But the guys at Triple Play were gracious enough to let us stay past closing--which allowed us to do in the bad-arse boss orc as well. Jeff said he was looking to do another delve in January, and perhaps even starting a campaign with players who're interested in a long-term game (that'd be me)!

Hey all, I'm glad that soman had a good time and enjoyed the delve. I am posting to see when is a good date to set for another delve night or most likely, the beginning of a campaign. I was thinking either Thursday January the 6th or Thursday January the 20th? Let me know which date is better for all and we will go from there.

Either works for me as long as I know a week or so in advance

Either works for me, but there's a greater chance I'll be overseas on the 20th than the 6th.

Hey blodgetter & soman, Lets plan for the 6th. I am getting the campaign ready this weekend and we will be starting out as 1st level characters.
At this point, I will ask that you each create two characters for the adventure. We can spend the first session getting characters made if the need arises. I will bring extra character sheets and have my PHB on hand for useage. However, if characters are made ahead of time, we can jump right in. If you would like to go with that route, just post on here what classes you will each be playing and we can go from there.
Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great New Years.

I definitely got the taste for running a spellcaster after last session, so one of my PCs will be a Sorcerer. I'll also try a Shaman. I'll stay away from the Druid since Jen expressed an interest in that class. Both of these are PHB2 characters. I'll roll'em up tomorrow.
Oh, is there anything else we should consider? Alignments we should avoid? Are you using a specific campaign setting? Shouldwe have a character backstory in mind?

I'm glad to hear that you are partial to the spell slingers. I'm curious to see what build you bring for a sorcerer and a shaman. I have not actually seen a shaman in action before, so it should be a good addition. I know Jen will appreciate playing a druid, so thank you for that.
I'm using the Keep on the Shadowfell. A generic D&D setting for the world, but full of plenty adventures to be had. I've run part of it before and really like the results. As for alignments, nothing evil is all I ask at this juncture. Neutral characters are always welcome in my campaigns. If you like, create a bit of a back story so that you can introduce your character to the setting, up to the point of before the group first meets. I will fill in the rest.
I'd like to meet at the same time as before, 5:30 and hopefully get under way by 6PM. Post any questions you may have and I will answer them promptly.

So this will be starting up this thursday? I don't have any books or i'd pre-roll a character. I'm looking to play a combat class, either rogue or ranger depending on the rest of the party. I haven't played 4.0 before but i have played 3.x and a little AD&D before, so i'm not a total newbie. This does mean i'll have to buy some more dice though, especially a d20 that doesn't hate me.
Let's hunt some Orc!!

Hey sqp, Welcome, welcome, glad to have another member on board. This will be a 4th edition D&D campaign, starting out at 1st level, so no experience with the current edition is fine. At this point I do have a ranger for the party, but a rogue would probably do nicely.
I will have a PHB handy Thursday night, the 6th, and you can roll up a character then. I look forward to rolling the dice with you. Please be there by 5:30, and we can get a character under way for you then.

For the rest of the Party: Please still bring your two characters a piece. It looks like we have a new member attending. Also, my friend Matt who stopped by late in the game on our first session, may attend and he will have a character pre-made.
I ask for the two characters still, in case not everyone shows up. That way we can still experience what the full adventure has to offer.

spq - I'll have another PHB handy. One thing about 4th Ed--if I may editorialize--is that the powers aspect of combat keep you coming back to the book practically every round unless you make yourself the power cards, so the more copies of the rulebook the better.
No evil, makes sense. But it's a good thing my sorceress doesn't need to be evil in order to be a pill. I'll see you all on Thursday!

Hello all, I confirmed that Matt will be showing up as well. So as of this point, there should be five people playing, and then myself as the illustrious DM. ;D
All in all, it should turn out to be a good night. I know that there will be one Paladin present, but as of now there is a definite need for a fighter. I've suggested that to Matt, however, spq, would you be up to playing as a fighter? Let me know where your desire lies and we can hash out the basic rap sheet of PC's before Thursday is upon us.

Hey guys, Well, another great D&D session and the start of a campaign. I had a blast DM'ing and I hope all enjoyed the first part of the adventure path. I look forward to playing again on Thursday the 20th.
Until next time. Have a good one and I'll see you at the table.
