Summer 40k League Discussion Area

We are going to have a summer 40k league down atthe store.
THe starting pts total is 500 pts. You can play up to 3 games a week , at any point in the week , with any other league participant.

I will open a thread on here for results reporting. More details to follow.

Sign up will be $5.00. THere will be prizes at the end. Also all league participants get 20% off 40k product until the end of the league. GREAT TIME to start a new army.

Hey, I think i'll throw my elder into the fray. I doubt my Tank compay would be very welcome!
Also I had one questions, are the lists going to be static or fluid? meaning we bring a 500 pt. list the first week, and then the next week we add 100 pts to that list, or is it simply Bring 500 points and next week you can bring a compleatly diffrent 600 point list?
If its up for a vote i'd like to have it be a single list. You make one list and add to it but the only changes you can make are the extra 100 points per week (that can be saved up to add something thats ove 100 points)

Well, I think the lists should be able to change, just that you have to keep the core the same. as how will anyone beable to get a battlewagon/land raider/falcon into thier list without losing a bunch of matches in the earlier weeks because they are saving the points to get one of the bigger things.

By "the core" do you mean the original 500? The two troops and HQ?

Any way it goes, my Flesh Tearers are definitely in. Sounds like this will be a lot of fun.

Yeah, something like this; the Orginal 500pts. must be kept in all lists. The squads/characters can only be added to never detucted from

Right now, Im thinking that the lists are not set. You can use whatever you want every game.

The reason for this is that, I want people to feel free to experiment with unusual units, without the fear of being stuck
with them.

A full list of rules, scenarios and everything else will be up by the end of the week.

This is how its going to work.

First week is 500 pts. Until we get to the 800 pt level, the follwoing rules apply.

1. Nothing with over 2 wounds.

2. Nothing with an AV higher than 44 on all sides.

3. You don't have to have an HQ if you dont want to.

4. One one core choice required.

It starts with 500 pts. You can add 100 pts each week. After we hit 800 pts Normal force org is required.

THere will be new scenarios every week posted here. You and your opponent can roll for a mission off the given list.

You receive 10 pts for a win, 5 for a draw and 1 point for a loss.

You only get the points for the first game you play. You can play up to 2 more games for the league per week. You get 1 bonus pt for each extra game participated in.

There will also be bonus pts for completing scenario based objectives.

After you get done with your games for the week, you will post them in the results section. I will keep the standings. I will also update everyone with a weekly newsletter.

I am still toying with hte idea of expereince point gains, and gear and skill upgrades for squads. Be prepared for all different kinds of games.

The reason I am running this campaign like this is that in tghe past people always have trouble trying to make it to one specific night a week.

THis way, people can play at their leisure. To find opponents , simply message someone on here. Or try calling the store.

How many weeks do you think this will run? Will there not be any weekend tournaments while the League is running?

Tournies will continue as normal. i plan on the league wrapping up at the end of august.

Ben, you may wish to change the allowed armor value. Your current 44 allows land Raiders...
