I am trying to gage interest in a Twilight Struggle League at the store. boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/12333/twilight-struggleIt would play out over a period of time with everyone playing each other player twice. (Once as the Soviets and once as the US) Other detals will follow if there seems to be enough interest. So if you are interested...just post here. If there appears to be enough people willing to do this...we can see about setting it up and working out some more details! Thanks Rod

I am interested, depending on when the games happen.
The attempt to close the school in Peacham ended at Town Meeting on Tuesday but on Wednesday my wife became chair of the Select Board which means I'll be drafted more than ever to help with math intensive stuff like finances. I've promised myself that I will show up at Triple Play again someday.

I love (and own) Twilight Struggle. I'd be up for playing. Would we be using the Deluxe Edition extra cards?

Hey Rod, this sounds like a great idea. It's hard to get these 2-player games to the table at TP, since well - they only play two people. As long as we could do a "low pressure" type of scheduling (the game schedule is getting full For example give everyone a month to play their match or something. That would be just enough motivation to play the game, without being too disruptive.

That is exactly what I was thinking Andy. Maybe a night or day a month for people to meet and play at the store. But also a more casual schedule, where if two people can meet at the store and play...they can do so at their convience. (Within the time frame of the league of course....) Dave I would assume we would use the deluxe cards. To be honest I would not know which cards were added to the deluxe edition. I love the game...but I don't know all the cards by heart! So we have four interested now.... Chuck is probably a 5th. If we could get a solid 8 that would be excellent...but numbers do not really matter. Timing.. some time later this spring for a month or two? Gives us plenty of time to play all the games.... Thanks for the input guys... I hope we can get this off the ground sometime later this spring/summer. Rod

Carlo would be a possible 6th. It wouldn't hurt to advertise it on GMG and BGG.

Sorry for the late reply guys
Of course i'm interested, it's TS afterall... it shouldn't be more complicated to play than Netrunner... I mean that if we can find time to play NR at the store, there is no reason that we cannot do it with TS as well... yes it takes more time obviously but still
Flexibility will be a key factor for me as i can be there only on week-ends for the moment... Maybe on thurdays (occasioinally) too as i am more "flxible" now that my annual rush at my job is over
Count me in!

Carlo - We discussed this on Wednesday. If I remember what Rod said, we will all meet to set up the schedule, agree on the league structure, and maybe play our first game.

What date would work as a set up day? May looks really full with gaming events. Would Sat June 1st or Ameritrash Sunday June 2nd work? Thoughts on rules/scheduling: People seem to want to use the deluxe set with the additional cards. Players would play each othe player twice (once as the Soviets and once as the Americans) I think there should be a time period (3-6 months) to get the games played. This would depend on the number of players. I would also like to see one day or evening a month set aside for league play. This would help with scheduling. I would propose we each throw in $5 with 1st and 2nd place prizes (Gift certificates to the store) awarded, based on win/loss record. Just my thoughts.... suggestions welcome. Just looking for this to be a fun and competitive league! Thanks Rod

Everything looks fine and we could all meet & set this up at the next AT
As for me, it'll have to be a week-end thing as due to my current situation

Okay looks like we will kick this off at the next AT Sunday June 2nd! So if you are interested, please try to come to AT Sunday June 2nd. We start 10-10:30am. We will figure rules and schedules. Also play a few games of TS! I know Andy may not be there. He has let us know his opinions on rules and other stuff. If you cannot make it, please let us know you are interested and anything you would like for the league. People will be able to jump in after the 2nd, so please don't worry if you can not make it to the store then. Really looking forward to getting the league started.... Thanks Rod

Money for the store sounds good.
Any reason games have to actually be played in the store? Other places might be more convenient or provide better ambiance. Norwich Pub anyone? Maybe simultaneous games in the bar at Lake Morey?
Since there are so few interested, will we each play everyone else? Twice?

Where people decide to play will be discussed on June 2nd. The store is just a convenient location for "most" of us. However there are some interested that live further away... I believe setting up games to be played elsewhere would be fine.
And yes Rick the general consensus is that you play each other player twice...once as the Soviets and once as the Americans.
We will hammer final details on Sunday June 2nd and hopefully get a game or two in.... ;D
