Is there a possibility of a Tanksgiving event this year? Early, Mid or Late?
If yes might I suggest Friday night Nov. 16th or Saturday day Nov 24th. (Days I know I can make it) Mayby a day in December in November isn't good.
The Germans fend off the great advancing Soviet hoard.....The not so friendly Hell's highway....Or Rommel vs Montgomery in the desert....or somethng else.

Wayne I guess that Steve must be out of town. We did not do a Tanksgiving last year, only three people were interested and we could never come up with a date that worked for all of us.
This year there has been no discussion of doing one, and very little talk of doing anything FOW related at all.
I would guess that the odds of a Tanksgiving happening here are very slim to none. Temis

Temis I would be interested in a Tanksgiving Early War. I am waiting for my 15 polish tanks and a Infantry platoon to arrive in the mail sometime next week. Then that will give me the rest of the month to get my company painted. I would have to agree with Temis that our group has been some what missing in action this summer. I have built a 1525 point polish tank company. So I will be itching to play it. If we play early war. Would the Soviets and Germans be on the same side? Will

The Russians and the Germans probably should be on the same side if we assumed that it was 1939. Also the Finns could be on the Allied side except they had no tanks in 1939.
The real problem is what Russian lists to use?, and if Steve, Wayne and I have enough Russian tanks to use. I doubt any of us have enough, If any, T-26's, T-28's or BT-5s(just to name a few).
We could use early T-34s and KV-1s but that could be a very one sided battle. There is already a Thread on the forum whining about how the Russian's will dominate EW in Tournaments once Barbarossa comes out.
In the end the question is how many of us have 2000 points of EW tanks I could probably come up with 2000 points KVs but that's about it. Temis

We can do the Polish campaign and have the Germans and Russians all gang up on Will's Polish tank force!!
I can field an Italian early war tank force or a German one (Pz 38's). Temis may be right in stating that we need to keep to mid or late war.
I would actually be in for this. Haven't played FOW is much too long and a tank battle might be a good way to ease myself back in a bit.
Doing it on a Friday night would probably limit our time too much unless we each brought like 1000 points.
Saturday the 24th is the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I might be iffy for that date.
Wayne, what December dates work for you?

Actually December is a pretty good month for me. Saturday the 8th, 15th or 22nd work.
I think mid or late is a good option. Like Temis said, early would be fun but I think now most would have trouble fielding enough tanks (I have polish infantry).
Question would be mid or late? Any theme? Desert? Eastern front? Western front?
I think I could come up with some prizes for the winning team!

I will e-mail the "usual suspects" and direct them to this thread so we can set a date.

I am in... However, not owning anything but late war US kind of limits me. though I could squeeze out a couple of mid war lists.
either way I am itching to get back in and play!
I hope to see you all soon!

I am good for any of the December dates and would prefer MW to LW.

N'steve it really is not such a big deal to convert your LW Americans to MW the organization and equipment is very much the same, The only thing you will really need to do is proxy your M4(76)'s as earlier M4 models, look at the North Africa book on easy army. Temis

I posted in Store News and Events to see if Dec. 8th is available without conflict for Tanksgiving.

I say if the 8th is available let's go for it!
Shall we say late war? Sounds like most can do that, plus I have some models to work on for either so I would like to get started.

December 8th is the date.
Mid-War or Late-War? Looks like we have folks who prefer both.
Toss a coin.
Mid-War it is.
I agree with Temis, it should be relatively easy to proxy American and Soviet tanks to midwar.
