Oh and I want to add that the rumor about stand and shoot is cool, but at BS1 means that it is just a useless rule that will just make the game take longer and not have any effect on the combat.

This is just the fix we needed! I've been complaining about how all my chainfists should do more against tanks and how I thought powerswords were so overpowered against all my 2+ units.
Oh wait! Now I remember. The only ones that have chainfists are marines and the only ones that use power weapons anymore are Xenos. I get so confused. Yes, terminators certainly need a buff and howling banshees really needed a nerf. WTF?
BTW: for anyone keeping track there's acually only one thing I care about being in 6th edition:
Some rule that includes the words "forests" and "block line of sight" in the same sentence. Preferably that immediate order unless seperated by "or other area terrain"

I saw that and was like great now eldar are going to suck worse against TH/SS terminators, It took me more time than id like to admit to figure out if there even was a TH/PF equivlinet in the eldar codex.
If this ends up being true, in fact everyone will suck more against TH/SS terminators. They are as cheap as normal terminators and are by far more useful, to the point I havn't seen the normal terminator shooting squad ever taken. Oddly enough this will make both options more equal now for fighting other people. But this would screw over everyone else, because then power weapons wouldnt be able to thin them out before thunder punch time.
Thers always the chance thunder hammers dont have ap1 or 2 because this rumor dosnt mention them. But who are we kidding if powerfist are 2 theres no reason hammers wouldnt at least be 2 either.
This does remind me of the leaked codex way back, but on that power weapons where also ap2.
P.S Vince the leaked codex made references to dense terrian, which wouldn't allow you to shoot through the footprint of the terrian regardless of what you could see.

They signified that they realized their mistake with Blood Angels, who pay an extra five points for the storm shield/thunder hammer combo, which is fair. Power weapons are a VERY poor way to kill terminators under the current structure - to the point where the extra attacks and strength of scorpions makes them the math hammer equal to banshees on the charge against TH/SS termies and superior afterwards. Then again, eldar players should be gunning down assault terminators with massed small arms fire like the rest of the 40k world. An army with Doom, Guide and bladestorm seems quite uniquely set up to make sure that assault terminators simply cease to exist. Of course that might be difficult if they're hiding behind some infinite trees, but that's another matter. ;D |

I'm not talking about just eldar its everyone. How about lightning claw terminators? This would make them infeeble against all other terminators not just other TH/SS when they literaly almost cost the same. Non-monsterous creature Xenos really dont have powerfists or thunderhammer equivilents, and if they exist they are str 6.
Strikes last weapons are supposed to be made balanced so that things striking on them have a chance to kill them.
So striking scorpions are in fact the same against TH/SS. But are we just going to ignore the fact that FNP exists? Or that the eldar codex was made on the verge of 2 editions ago? Or the fact that banshees are only bad against great invul saves which are on underpriced models? Or fact that farseers cant be bought as apart of a banshee squad?
Banshees literally only assault infantry and in fact cant do anything else, they cant even hurt vehicles. Guess what TH/SS assualt and win against now.... everything. So I guess we should just make them better while hurting other assualt units. Not considering shooting options, that just seems dumb to me.
P.S. 5 points really really doesn't matter to me, nor to you, nor to anyone enough to make you double think taking them. It pretty much means that your only paying -5 instead of -10 points for that equipment to have a space marine stat line with artificer armour.
P.S.S. I'm not a big fan of people saying eldar are fine because they have farseers. Because in fact eldar only still barely fine becasue they have farseers, specifically Eldrad. Making units mandatory for a army to work is not how you make balanced choices. It just makes for boring repeative TH/SS apparently.

Hey, I was just bringing this up as a "this makes no sense." Though, I could see how my sarcastic text could be taken as bitching. Like I said, I don't have any skin in this fight since neither of my remaining armies have any power weapons or fists in them. |
