What it breaks down to is if you use Chaos Space marines as allies the cult warriors(Plagues,Noise,Thousand,Beserkers) Will not count as troops. Same as Apaddon and his chosen.

Oh Typus leader of the sadest zombie hordes around.
But I am happy they made the rules for foc changing the way they did, there's hope they will write codexs to actually be fielded without allies.

Here's a question, all of the characters in the new CSM book come with a warlord trait. Do they benefit fro mthe trait if you take them as an ally HQ?

As far as I can tell from the main rulebook, You can use a Allied Hq as your warlord meaning he would use his warlord trait. He would have to be your warlord though.

Ok, so the internet just hit me with this and I want to hear intelligent people comment on it.
On the options for a demon prince it says it can take items form the chaos artifact list. One of the items is a weapon that you can only take if you have the mark of khorne. What people are saying is that Dp's don't get marks but are just a demon of khorne or of nurgle etc... I am of the mind that a demon of khorne would count has having the mark of khorne but I want to hear your opinions.

Although the idea of Daemon swinging around another daemon as a weapon would be hilarious, they went out of their way to make them have "Daemons of ..." instead of "Marks of .....". Which rules wise doesn't let DP's swing axes apparently.
Thinking about this made me realize Kharns weapon is called goreCHILD.... That mental picture should get me through the day.
P.S. Poofy and I found in the choose your own adventure rule book (page 109) that your warlord has to be from your primary detachment. So allied CSM can't be used to get that awesome warlord chart. And if they have a static one don't get it because they can't be your warlord.

It's ok, there's another demon weapon that I can give to my DP on the artifact list that doesn't require a mark

It's also much better..... almost brokenly so because smash applies to to it.
Although Murder Sword just sounds cooler and I encourge you to take it because of that.

So it appears that GW will go down the route of WF:IoB, with the cultists being relesed in packs of five from the molds of the DV set. Now it remains to be seen if they will cost 25 bucks for those booster packs.

Hey folks, a question about a stlye of tournoment.
When T-Play eventually has another doubles tournoment should the allied teams use the 'ally chart' in the WH40K rule book or should we just use the old rules of a pair of gaming buddys with their own armys and not worry about the new rule book?

Well we could do something goofy where teams can only be made up of players playing armies only available to Allie (maybe axing "not before the Apocalypse" and "desperate" because those are the ones that prevent universal scoring).
But that really just depends on who's TOing and how it factors into their homemade scenarios.
P.S. Just a recommendation, but if anyone wants to put special team player Allie rules in place Tyranids should be allowed some friends. They be lonely.
