Post your game results here and give us a brief description of the highlights (or lowlights) so we can follow the progress (or lack thereof) of the evil alliance. Also post here to schedule games and locate opponents.
There is a white 3-ring binder at the store on the shelves behind the counter. In it I placed copies of the different raid scenarios from recent White Dwarfs. Play them if you want as they present some fresh scenarios other then just lining up and killing each other. Just put the copies back when you are done so others can use them.
The grand finale Armageddon megabattle has been officially scheduled for Sunday, March 29th starting at 10:30. Jeremy will be adding it to the store calendar.

Retreat from Hessenburg Wald
The Dwarfs of King Ross Grimbeard and the Wood Elves of New Yorke retreating side by side after the devastating loss at Hessenburg Wald could only wonder how the forces of Darkness found out about the secret meeting.
"Surely, you don't think a drunk Dwarf can keep a secret" a cry came from the Wood Elf Bowmen...."never trust a pointy ear Elf" was the relpy...It was the dwarfs.....it was the elves....It was the.....The resulting 2000pt "scuffle" resulted in a win for the Wood Elves of Yorke (Their first ever).
High Points (Wood elf) 1) Rolling all 5's and 6's (it seemed like) for wood elf archery to hit and wound. 2) Only losing 9 Dryads and 3 Glade Guard the entire game 3) Gotta love Treemen in close combat 4) Only 1 (slightly reduced) Dwarf unit remaining at the end of the battle
Low Point 1) Dwarfs catching and destroying falling back Dryads (Ouch)
Thanks Ross Great game

As the Bretonnian force approached the perceived "peaceful" clearing, a scout ran back and warned the general of the slaughter. Ranks were dressed and cautiously the army advanced. "Good God!" exclaimed one as first the stench of rotting flesh and then the glowing yellow eyes of the Rat-men appeared. "Careful men! These rats appear different...and that odor...POISON GAS! shouted general. "Come on you peasants! Give me reason to not raise your taxes!" The archers notably worried, raised their longbows in unison and let loose their lethal volley. The trebuchet roared to life as well as a huge boulder was hurled into the unexpecting Skaven horde. The giant rock struck true and many were slain in an instant. The Bretonnian general smiled as he made preparations for his assault. Meanwhile, the damsel of the lady was calling to the beasts. "Oh Great Lady of the Lake, please send these foul creatures away from this once beautiful glade!" Suddenly, a huge spear of pure energy appeared and sprang from her hand and went right through the Skaven rank and file. She saw no less than 5 drop, but the Rat-men had bloodlust in their eyes and pressed on. Finally the time had come. "CHARGE!!!Let no one survive!". The general spurred his men onward and they crashed headlong into the fray. So powerful was the attack, that only one skaven who surely must've been in charge was able to fight back. The twisted Rat slew 2 knights, but the surging Bretonnians ran him down in short measure. On the other flank, things were not going as well. After an initial charge and apparent victory, the knights had been assaulted by Skaven magic. The men screamed in agony as their bodies broke out in boils and lesions. A few died, but others were saved from the Lady's Blessing. Just as quickly however, the knights were charged in the flank by Rat-men carrying great globes with green poisonous fumes spewing forth. Again, the knights held, but alas they were all slain eventually, but not before they had forced the evil wizard to flee and had reduced the effectiveness of the rat's western flank. Things were not as bad in the army center as the archers continued to fire volley after volley in the approaching rats. "OY! Wot's dat behind dem?" asked the yeomen warder who was charged with overseeing the men-at-arms. "RAT OGRES!" someone shouted. The men were scared and for good reason. Tales of these foul beasts rending several men at a time were commonplace. With either luck or guidance from above, one peasant's blow struck true. Not being known for bravery, the Rat Ogres turned and fled. The halbadiers tried to overrun them, but still somewhat nervous, only pursued half-heartedly. Luckily, the arrows of the archers had no fear and fell the giant monstrosities. By now the general and his men had turned around and were once again heading into the fray. Horses and men crashed into the black masses of fur. Again, the rats broke from the thunderous assault. A hearty cry sprang up from the ranks as the remaining rats skulked and scurried away. The battle was over, but a dozen good knights has been killed. Among the common folk, all of the archers lay dead, but they had done their job. "Pity. Those were some of the finest bowmen I had." said the general. "Send word back to the castle. We'll be returning home and I expect 2 new regiments of archers to be ready when I get there."
Highpoints - Rolling 5s and 6s like a fiend to wound. Magic bolt slicing through each rank like butter Bretonnian charge...devastating. Archers killing the rat ogres with some well placed shots
Lowpoints - Dead knights from pestilence and from globe gas. What a sad way to go heh
Had a great game Lloyd! Maybe next time the dice will be with you!

A few days after the raid, the Bretonnian column came across the dwarves' of King Ross Grimbeard. After some discussion regarding the dark elves and their trickery, the two generals decided to engage in some war games. The Bretonnian general was stunned as he didn't see a single gun or war machine. After praying to the Lady for strength and guidance, the Bretons were ready. The dwarves came toward the Bretonnian lines..slow and steady. This gave the newly acquired archers time to soften them up as well as for the trebuchet to pummel the slayers. The Breton general said a few hushed words, but nothing happened. The damsel was indeed lucky as she managed to cast forth the spear and as with the skaven, she administered the Lady's will. "Knights! Mount up and try to circle them. Speed is on our side!". The knights on the right flank rode hard and were making their way to the rear of the dwarven lines. On the left, the grail knights drove forward, while a second regiment of knights of the realm advance slowly forward trying to get a read on the dwarven strategy. Again, the dwarves move closer, but at this pace the general knew the day would be his. Once more...the sacred words were uttered and within moments, an ethereal green knight with his ghostly aura rode out from the forest in the distance. The archers who had just been called up, were proving to be just as good as their predecessors and the trebuchet again delivered true. A few of the peasants were starting to nod off at the trodden pace of their dwarven allies. This would prove to be fatal as his leg became tangled in the trebucet lines and was last seen cresting the hills beyond. The crew now stunned, bowed their heads and decided that perhaps they should wait to fire again. Finally, the dwarves were almost to the Bretonnian lines. However, the Breton general was ready. "Now! Charge them in the flanks! Show them what your made of!!" The kinights spurred their warhorses on and crashed into the flanks and on the other side the Greem Knight had busrt forth and also charged in. Pinned between the undead knight and the thundering hooves, the dwarves thought better of it and decided to retire to camp.
highlights - only lost one man and that was due to a misfire luck again was with me and the 5s and 6s were plentiful
Thanks for the game Ross!

Had a great game Lloyd! Maybe next time the dice will be with you! Unlikely, but we can always hope. And likewise, thanks again for the game. A rematch is in order.
Anyone up for a game Tuesday or Wednesday? I'm available either day. Any point value up to 2K.

Last night Ness of the Ka-Non (aka - Crone Hellebron) and her Witches of Battle army ran into the dreaded la Bretons du Hampshire.
The Lady drew her battle line - hordes of peasant archers and a trebuchet with a block of halbarders holding the center. Sir Robin and his 11 knights on one flank. A monster unit of 15 knights and three (count 'em, three) characters (700+ points) under the command on none less then Graham Chapman himself on the other flank. AND, Michael Palin (aka the Green Knight) lurked somewhere hidden in the woods.
Ness and her frenzied witches pushed forward in the center covered by harpies and shades. Two war hydra covered one flank while corsairs (with an assassin) and the Cold One Knights of Nee held the other.
The uber knight unit used magic to charge into the corsairs and crush them. The Cold One Knights and the shades flank attacked the knights only be be drubbed in combat (love rolling 1's for 2+ armor saves!). (These were the Cold One Knights formerly known as the Knights of Nee.)
On the other flank, one war hydra flamed Sir Robin's knights who promptly followed his orders to "Run Away! Run Away!" Picture knights in super-heated armor flailing away while racing off the table toward the nearest water source.
In the center, Ness leads her witches forward into the storm of arrows (and boulders). The Green Knight pops out of the forest to march block the poor witches. Forty witch elves marched forth and 15 survived to charge. (Frankly, I was beginning to wonder why I wasted 350 points on the Crone until she got into combat!) The Bretonnina center collapsed. However the Green Knight rear charged the remaining witches and overwhelmed them (Those weren't two empty halves or coconuts he was banging together!).
The Bretonnian uber unit and the war hydras now played a game of "flank and flame". The hydras trying to cook the konnighettes in their armor while the knights reformed and attempted to charge the hydras with the magic spells of the Lady. And the luck of the Lady was clearly with the knights as they made 6 of 7 4+ armor saves one turn and 4 of 5 5+ ward saves the next turn. In the end 2 dispel dice didn't cut it and the magic charges proved the bane of both Hydra.
The Dark Elves were dead to a man...er woman...er elf. But at what a cost - 21 "brave" knights died (along with numerous inconsequential peasants of course) and the Bretonians retired to Castle Arrrrgh to mourn the fallen and celebrate their victory.
OK - new evil tactic - since we apparently cannot defeat la Bretons du Hampshire lets ridicule them with as many Monty Python and the Holy Grail references as we can. Now, go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

Great posts! I may have to see if I can scoot over tonight for a match. Do you all think I could change to TK since I havent played a game yet? There are already two DE players.

Well, Devin and I were thinking that with three DE players we would just end up ruling the known universe by the end of the league. If folks want to switch armies during the league (or even switch back and forth) I don't see that as a problem based on how we have it set up.
I will bring my Dwarfs as well as me DE tonight in case the evil/good ratio doesn't work out right just to keep the league good vs evil fluff going.

had a great game with lloyd, the clan pestilens gathered up and were set to overwhelm the small but elite dwarves. The dwarves ended up victorious with the highlight being 3 skaven units stuck in combat with the slayers.
