Anyone up for a Trench Fight on Tuesday? The scenario is on page 219 of the main rule book. Gets us into working out all of the entrenchment rules - trenches, pillboxes, barbed wire, minefields, etc.
Thinking about four players - 1000 points each.
One Axis player on the table entrenched. The other being the reserve force.
Both Allied forces start on the table.
People can tailor their forces for the scenario.
I would like to be the Axis force in the entrenchments but am flexible.
Any takers?

Any takers? Do you see each force as two cmplete companies. In other words you and will will each have a complete 1000 point company. Or can we have some leeway in the fomations (one combat platoon and an Hq as in the 800 point Games).

I would take it as an each has a 1000 point company, with a total 2000 point force per side. I would very much love to play this one out because it sounds like a lot of fun. nothing like a beach/bunker/trench assault to get me in the mood for christmas However, we have had a family emergency and i wont be able to make it tuesday. if there is another night like thursday let me know. but if i cant make it just play on! (Though i think it would be great for wills two greatest rivals to team up on him at once lol.) but boy does that scenario sound like fun

Steve has it right. Each side has two 1000 point companies. Two combat platoons required per company.
If there is interest, we can run the same scenario again next Tuesday (Dec 28th). Are you planning on being there then, Steve? Jeremy won't be playing on the 21st so maybe he would want to play on the 28th. Still need a second Allied player for the 21st.

The answer was obvious but the question is Steve do you want a good game or just to slaughter us. You I would suspect are going to use your German Company that allows you to buy extra points of Fortification(up to 60 isn't it)? On a Narrow field thats going to be a tough nut to crack. and will probably require a combined arms force. With only a 1000 point to play around with that will be Hard to do. I suggested 1 combat platoon per company to free up some points.

Well, a slaughter would be fun for some of us. I jest.
I am worried about the same thing in reverse. With Preliminary Bombardment (which should statistically kill one sixth of my teams) and with 2000 points on the table at the start vs. only my 1000, I worry about being overrun before Will can get his reserves into play.
How about ONE company from each side only has to take one combat platoon. You and your yet-to-be-named-but-has-to-be-Mike(or Jesse)-since-the-other-allied-players-cannot-make-it sidekick can duke it out. For us, Will will have the flexibility of just one platoon.
Now, why would you say that the 78th Sturm Division would show up?? Actually, my reason for choosing them was a different one entirely but I did soon realize that I could make up any odd leftover points by purchasing fortifications. However, at 1000 points it is tough to spend any points on extras like fortifications. In the end, I bought an extra trench with my 5 leftover points.

I like to slaughter you. It has a good holiday ring to it.
Seems I have a new arch enemy. It would be great to slaughter Temis and new Steve together. I will only need to dig one hole to bury your army's.

Yes I am planning on being there the 28th if i can afford to be. getting used to my new paycheck is a little rough as i am sure you can imagine lol but so is life lol. I will let you know as soon as i do. I would like to run the scenario because i think it would be interesting to do. I will do my best to stay in the loop. oh and speaking of arch enemys, i found some things in the rules that will be to my advantage next time i play, he he he. steve shoot me a pm if you dont get one from me
