Kv1e:
I agree i am looking into the rest of the parts that i will need to make an armored rifle company. lots of options in that group.
Everyone:
Lets not let the bagering get the best of us, no harm in just a little fun jesting lol. We are all adults. We all have a different style of play. I am only just starting to develop mine. And we all know we can consult the rule book at any time and we can all agree upon our own house rules. After all, we got into this game to give us something to do that was fun (at least that is the case for me).
Faith And Fire,
Again this friday is any late war book for any army, any front? correct? Maybe we could do a time cap or a cap on the number of turns so that we can all move around and play different people?

Agreed! Fun is the operative word here. Some jesting is fine but enough is enough. We are such a small community as it is that we all need to get along in the end.
Seventy five minutes or 6 turns, whichever comes first? That might give us time for 3 games each? Might be too ambitous?

In other words, once in. his 3 games he can extend the game for an extra turn ( it might be the difference between a point victory and an outrigh win). Also just make it 75 minutes(if two players can cram 8 turns into 75 minutes why should they be denied the extra turns?)

I think the 6 turns was mentioned because most missions are supposed to last only 6 turns. There are a few that do have random game length or go to a turn 8. However, I think 6 turns is plenty and if people know they only have 6 turns, they won't be hiding for 7 turns to pounce on turn 8.

jeremy good point, however i think that if we are in the middle of a turn say we hit 75 minutes and we are in the top of turn 5 then we should be able to finish out the turn.
but it sounds fair for the general circumstances: 6 turns or 75 minutes which ever comes first. just trying to get some games in.

I would definately agree with that. You need to finish out a full round, not just the top half.

6 turns or 75 minutes whichever comes first with the stipulation that you must complete a full turn if the 75 minutes is coming first.

Hmmm - just noticed that I have now reached the five star level of "GOD". (See left side of this post.) All Hail Original Steve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God: What are you doing now? King Arthur: Averting our eyes, oh Lord. God: Well, don't. It's just like those miserable psalms, always so depressing. Now knock it off!
God: Every time I try to talk to someone it's "sorry this" and "forgive me that" and "I'm not worthy"...

However, I think 6 turns is plenty and if people know they only have 6 turns, they won't be hiding for 7 turns to pounce on turn 8. Of the basic 7 missions in Hard cover rule book only one mentions a specific number of turns. That is Fighting withdrawl which ends on turn 8 (unless won on an earlyer turn by the attacker). In Hold the line, Cauldron, Breakthrough and Road Block the game can end on turn 6(or later) for one or both of the players. But In all these cases It need not end it can easily go on for more turns. Further we will be playing Free for all(Right? ) where there is no mention of 6 turns at all. The game lasts untill one of the players controls an aenemy objective. Or it can last till The game runs out of time What this means in normal game.I have no Idea, the concept is not defined by Battlefront. (Of course on friday the time limit will be 75 minutes. As for the fear that if we extend the game extra turns if there is extra time, then Someone could launch a last minute attack to try and steal the game. I would point out that if we play only 6 turns the samething could happen on Turn 6 as easily as it could happen on tun 8I believe that the only limit to the length of the game should be 75 minutrd ;D .

I will be a gentleman. I will surrender if there is no way to win and my opponent has the upper hand. That way I can get into another game.
I really don't like limits. If I play a king tiger list. I have to work my way slower to get to my objective so that my opponent does not get too many flank shots. Its like the end game of chess.

I understand everyone dislike of limits, however, I think the point everyone is try to make is that these 800 point nights we have, we are trying to play it long enough to try and win, but setting a limit to turns and game time so that we can get more games in. I of all people like what if, or if i had one more turn, or there is always another chance to win. For instance if we had played out tanks giving it is very likely that you would have colapsed our flank and continued to take the board. but for the sake of everones schedule (in that case) we had to set limits. I like to think of these limits as ways to force myself to get to know the rules and get ready for tournaments so that i can think and play faster. Like i want to get myself to play like the book says: a 600 point game should only take a lunch time (~30 or 45 minutes).
so in a round about way, i guess what i am getting at is that the limit is what it is for this week and we should see how it goes an maybe in future weeks we only set a time limit instead of a time and/or turn limit
