Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anybody would be interested in helping me learn how to play 40K. I bought a chaos marines army about a year ago and only have a few models painted and then crazy life got in the way. I am finally having free time and would love to learn how to play.
I would love to start playing early, say around 11 am if anybody is interested.
Thanks Pat

I'm planning on being at the store on Saturday around 11. I'd be happy to give a crash course in 40k.

Welcome, Pat! Always good to see a new player around here. Saturdays are your best bet to get some 40k games in, but people also go down to the store here and there throughout the week. I'll be down on Saturday too.

There may be kill team/killzone going on too. It is a small 40K skirmish that takes less than an hour. This is a great way to learn the mechanics of the game without getting overwhelmed.

I read briefly through the Killzone rules. It seems like a great way to learn the rules of the game without becoming overwhelmed by all the rules. I can't wait to play

Just keep in mind that Killzone does have some rules that differ from normal 40K. It might be a better idea to play a small-scale (like 500-1000pts) of regular 40k. That way it won't be too confusing to differentiate between Killzone rules and 40k rules for a new player.

I agree with Tony. My recommendation is to learn the basic game, then venture into the wacky stuff like Killzone, Planetstrike and *gasp* Apocalypse*.
Just come with a 500/1000 point list and you can gun down some orks :-D
