Ill start off quoting the Codex here then pose my question:
Powerful arcs of energy link the Necron Lord and any unit he has joined. For every wound inflicted on them in close combat by an enemy unit of independent character, a single Strength 3 hit (with no AP) will be struck back as they are burned and shocked. The return blows are calculated after all other attacks are resolved and will hit the enemy that triggered them. For example, if one attacking unit inflicted three wounds they would therefore take three hits in return.
so my question is, say by some random stroke of luck only the Sargent in a Space Marine squad or that random melta dude causes any wounds. Is it played that He's the one that takes the wounds or is it divided up to whomever the space marine player wants in that unit like normal.
the reason I ask is that line: The return blows are calculated after all other attacks are resolved and will hit the enemy that triggered them.
what do you guys think?

The marine sergeant is still part of the unit. Therefore, they would go against the unit.

So when they typed Enemy they mean Enemy Unit? Or Enemy Model? I'm thinking Enemy Unit like you, but it just doesn't say that. I mean if it said Enemy Unit or Enemy Model it would be a no-brainer but it just doesn't.
