Board game night details?

Hi,

How does Board Game Night work? When do you meet? Do you meet at Triple Play? What ages would this be appropriate for?

I've played Magic for a long time and I've been playing board games at home with my son (10yo), such as Pandemic, Dominion, Thunderstone, and Small World. We'd be interested in meeting some new people and playing in a larger group, but I don't know if we're a good fit for what you have going on.

Board Game Nights usually start around 6pm-ish. Just show up and see what everyone feels like playing. I've only been here since May (moved from Michigan) and it's been a great group. Very welcoming to new players. We get upwards of 12-16 players some weeks. The age range can be very varied some weeks (Teens through middle age). My son (14) came with me a few weeks ago and had a great time. It's been great to try all different games.

Oh, we meet a Triple Play They have tables up stairs and down. Plenty of room each week even with the L5R stuff going on now.

And the group regularly plays some of the games you mentioned.

L5R night is only every other week, so this upcoming Wednesday will mainly just be board gamers.

Paul we would love to have new players. We play many different games. We try alot of the new ones, but the group also has some favorites. Dominion, Ave Caesar (a chariot race game), Bang!, Endeavor, Small World, Formula De.... I could go on. Most of the games are appropriate for kids 10 and up. Definetly come check it out this week. Some of the games on tap are Founding Fathers, Cyclades, and the new Settlers of Catan, Settlers of America. Also Dominion, Pandemic, and some others will be around. Keep an eye on the forums we usually post what games we will be trying to play....

It looks like we probably won't make it this week, but hopefully next week will work. We're looking forward to trying some new games.

I hope we'll see you next week. Feel free to bring along any games you might want to play, as that's how it works: we all just bring some games along we want to play.

We are mostly adult gamers (meaning of adult age, nothing else, lol) but your son is more than welcome. Because of his age it might be a good idea for you to bring a game along that he knows and likes. We will make sure it gets played. If there are any special requests, definately let us know. Between everybody that attends we will probably be able to honor most requests.

And last, but not least, Triple Play has been running a nice discount for people who attend Wednesday night board gaming: 20% off of the price of any in stock game for attendees on the night itself. So if you are contemplating a new purchase make sure you take advantage of that!
