Heya folks This Wednesday is our regular fortnightly L5R night at Triple Play, and to celebrate the release of the Empire at War expansion, we'll be running an Empire at War Draft. We'll be using four Empire boosters (with 5 holdings in the set, we should be able to get by without a CE-15 booster). We'll be looking to start at 6.30pm sharp, so if you plan on attending and might be a little late, let me know beforehand! As this is one of the first sets from the new printers and draft packs are obviously from the older printers, please note that sleeves MUST be used for the draft. I'll bring along some spares in case anybody doesn't have them. Draft rules can be found here: rules.l5r.com/CE_Booster_DraftIf anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Thanks, Mark (Edited by Tony- hope you dont mind me abusing my power Mark!)

Thanks to everyone that took part yesterday. Eight players for our first draft was fantastic, and using 4x Plague War 1x CE-15 really gave us a good spread of cards. It was great to see a new player jumping in at the deep end (Zach bought some cards right before the draft begin, then decided to join in without ever actually having played a game!), and the all the draft newbies did very well. Looking forward to getting more drafts done in the future!
Cheers Mark

For sure, dude. I'd be up for a draft every other L5R night, making it one a month.

When is the draft for september, and what are the rules for draft? Haven't played a lot, little unsure on what goes into the draft.

The rules for draft can be found here: rules.l5r.com/CE_Booster_DraftA couple of minor points regarding them: the list of contents for the draft pack is incorrect, as rather than 4x Brilliant Artisan and 1x Akodo's Grave, there are actually 5x Brilliant Artisan. Secondly, we treat Celestials the same way as Events - once they've been used, they're removed from the game. At our first Triple Play draft, we had one player who hadn't actually played a game of L5R before join in, and he did pretty well! Draft is something that's pretty hard to get totally wrong, and is a fun, different way of playing the game. It looks like Empire at War, the latest expansion, will be in stock on Tuesday, so we'll be hopefully holding an Empire at War draft this Wednesday. If you have any specific questions about the format, please feel free to post here or in the L5R section, or alternatively send me a private message. Hope that helps! Mark

I'm going to use this thread as a stickied way to update every Wednesday L5R night for Mark.

Then shouldn't it be in the l5r board?

I want to make sure that the Event forum is the place to go for anyone who is wondering what might be happening on a given night. So for example, any 40k tournaments I run in the future will be double posted in Events.
This way, we can hopefully avoid scheduling conflicts. If someone wants to run an event on a certain day, they can look in here and make sure there's enough table space for everyone!
