Hiya folks
This Wednesday is our regular fortnightly L5R night. We'll be there from around 6.30 through until 10 or so. All levels of experience are welcome: whether you're an experienced veteran player or someone just interesting in trying the game out, we'd be delighted to have you join us.
I'll be bringing along my boxes of commons and uncommons: anyone who buys at least a booster from the store is welcome to raid the boxes for free. I also have folders of rares for sale if anyone wants to power up their deck. As anyone who has popped in to chat about L5R can tell you, we're also very generous to new players: if you purchase your first L5R starter on an L5R night, I'll give you 10 free rares to get you started.
If anyone has any questions, please drop me a line at daigotsu13@gmail.com.
Thanks, Mark

Maybe its time to get over my Unicorn Trauma dealt to me 15 years ago and get a Crane deck going again!
Back in the day Unicorns cav charges were really really powerful!

As long as you've bought the starters from Triple Play at some point, I'm happy to help you out with some rares, dude. The game is very different now from 15 years ago Khornedog, but Unicorn can still be a traumatic experience Still, as someone who has played the game since the tail end of Imperial Edition, I can honestly say this is the best environment I've ever seen L5R have. There just isn't a huge gap between the best clan and the worst clan anymore: I played in a 41 player charity tournament in Maryland over the weekend, and the top eight had seven different clans in it! Brian thats not fair, most of us can't choose a clan based on our surname!

Ha! I was hoping no one would catch on! Considering i made my wife take my last name I had better hold it in high regard!
from what I remember Crane is a cool clan with lots of challenging and honor mechanics.

Of what I have seen they have alot of duelists and make a great honor gain deck.

That's a fair assessment. Crane decks are usually win by honour, and feature either lots of dueling (especially with the fantastic stronghold they received in The Plague War) or Daidoji Scouts for a more robust defensive deck that can switch and take provinces if it needs to.
