ive played a few games so far, and its playing quickly. the game play is fun, combat is deadly, and has some wild swings.
just looking to see how other people are reacting to the new rules, and what they like and dont.

As someone who is new to Fantasy (don't know if that invalidates my opinion, but I think there's something to be said to having a newbie jump in on a new edition), I think the game has a great feel and the pace moves right along. As Chuck said, combat is deadly and you can't be too attached to your little plastic battlemans. I look forward to playing some of the others to get a feel for the other armies. Where is everybody?

I am kinda really liking this edition. Some of the random stuff that can happen orginally seemed a problem, but you can honestly pritty much get around the randomess quite easily. In this edition combat definetly can swing one way or another easily. Not to mention steadfast is a pregnant dog!

Steadfast is more than a pregnant dog, its a line of pregnant dogs several ranks deep.

played a game today, and pit of shades hit my unit of longbeards, killed over half of them, then killed my lord and the BSB.
of course i forgot that longbeards are immune to panic and they broke and ran. either way without the lord and BSB the unit was going to get beaten up on by the chosen unit that was approaching.
and then the dagnabbit hell cannon hit my other unit of warriors and wiped out over half. wamm bamm thank ya dwarf.

We rolled up Watchtower too, Chuck. And naturally Brian got it with some Chaos Warriors parked inside. First turn I charge with 30 Black Orcs, they fail to drive the Warriors out. His first turn he drops a Hellcannon template on them and rolls a misfire, then a 6. It can't shoot the rest of the game, but 25 Black Orcs get hit with Strength 10! 20 of them died.

I am really liking that bound spells require you to use power dice for them, as my Tk don't need the power dice and it just makes my opponents use up their dispels on bound items instead of my incantations.
I am also digging the LOS changes as I can now shoot at knights and big stuff behind normal troops without having to be on a hill. Also, indirect screaming skull catapults are nice, as well as getting my second rank + half of the remaining models shooting...

Yeah, I am still alive. I moved to Northfield and have been really busy, so the hour drive to TriplePlay has not been happening...
