Heya folks
Sean is happy for us to run a regular monthly L5R tournament , so I'm just looking for a little input. I'd like to run the event on Saturdays, and will probably be looking at scheduling it for the third Saturday of each month, meaning the first tournament would be on Saturday July 17th. How does this sound to people?
We'd be looking at charging around $5 entry and giving away promos and store credit for prize support: Sean has a policy of turning all entry fees into prize support, so if 10 players show up, $50 is given away in store credit.
I'm a big believer in trying to support and reward new players, so I'd likely be looking at a special prize each month to the player finishing highest in their first tournament. Most L5R players greatly enjoy nurturing new players, so I'm sure there would be plenty of offers of advice and deck help, as well as many cards given to the newer players.
If anyone has any comments or questions, I'd be delighted to hear (read?) them!
