L5R Sealed Tournament Sat June 5th

The first L5R tournament at Triple Play drew a very respectable eight players, with a nice almost-even spread of the three clans. We ran three rounds of Swiss, and the standings were:

1st Mark (Lion) 3-0
2nd Chris (Crane) 2-1
3rd Rick (Crab) 2-1
4th Jeremy (Lion) 2-1
5th Devon (Crane) 1-2
6th Shelby (Crane) 1-2
7th Brad (Crab) 2-1
8th Sean (Lion) 0-3

As we had plenty of time, we cut to top four, meaning all four players with a winning record made it through. I beat Jeremy in an all-Lion semi-final, while Chris held off Rick in the other match. In the final, Chris got revenge for his earlier loss in the Swiss and beat me to win the tournament.

Triple Play provided lots of prizes, with all the top four getting at least $10 store credit. Chris also won a katana for first place, and everyone who took part received several promo cards. A randomly-drawn prize of the Samurai: Heaven and Earth graphic novel was won by Brad.

Thanks to Rick, Chris and Jeremy for making the trip up/down/across for this tournament, and keep your eyes open for constructed events starting in the very near future. Our L5R night continues fortnightly, with the next night on Wednesday, June 16th.
