I had a great game of bloodbowl last night. My new High Elf Team actually peformed against a veteran Dark Elf team. It was just a crazy game. I was wondering if anyone else out there has an itch to play a little bloodbowl. I am interested in skilling up my team.
Bloodbowl is a GW game but is fan supported. It has a free rulebook and is really cheap to get a team. It is a mix of fantasy and football. While I am not a huge american football player ( I like the European style better) but I love bloodbowl. If you like either fantasy or football you woul dlike this game. It is relatively easy to learn but tough to master. It is only 2 players though.

I wouldn't mind learning it. It seems kinda fun. I'm not going to get into how much better American foot ball is the European futball and rugby combined.

Its pretty Easy to learn. We will have to set up a time at some point to show you Poof... I think you would like it. Also I would love to throw around the idea of a statewide BB league. I know that Antonin really likes the game as well and would be willing to play whatever-especially with his deadly dark elf team. The problem is that we only have so much time for gaming and 40K is hot right now and 8th ed Fantasy is right around the corner.

Is 8th edition fantasy supposed to be increasing Fantasy play time? It sounds like a huge revision on a game that needs at most an F.A.Q to clarify sliding issues, and a bit of attention at the Army Book level.

Oh good, then I don't have to get into how American Football is not played with a round object commonly referred to as a ball, but with a weird, somewhat egg shaped object which is carried across the field by hand, not foot, thus making the entire name "football" a complete misnomer. I also don't have to point out that the game is played with so much padding that it really is just rugby with training wheels. And don't get me started on this 10 yard => time for a break thing. How about we watch real sports: guys that run top speed for 45 minutes across the entire field multiple times, doing both offense and defense and goal kicking all by themselves, then take a break and do it for another 45 minutes. That's exciting! The most exciting thing in the Super bowl is the Budweiser commercial...

Yes that's th professionals blah blah blah who gives a f**k. Street football is different then the pros. And who cares about the name of a sport? What the hell does rugby mean anyways? The players wear padding to protect themselves from bad injuries. I like seeing someone get hurt playing but not get brain damage or even death when it could be prevented. Oh and basketballs better then all 3 If you didn't notice, my first post was a joke.

Regardless of how people feel about the two... lets just say they are apples and oranges and each to their own. This thread is about Bloodweiser Babes and Star Players on a pitch of blood! I would encourage all to give this game a try!

I always waste my effort and root for the USA for their short time in the world cup... That should count for something;)

I think it would be fun to have a Blood Bowl night at one of the Wednesday Board Game nights! I have never played and would like to learn. And by the way there is no better sport in the world than the Beautiful Game! If only America would put the effort into it that the Europeans and South Americans do...we could be a power house in the World Cup. Only 14 more days to the start of the Cup and 15 til we get beat England!!!
