Chuck - Thanks for stepping up and being the scoremaster! That can be the only explanation for your last place finish - you were tied up in paperwork which is the real bane of the vampire.

Wow. That's a lot of draws. Was that due to even matching among the players or bad mission design on the part of GW?

mission design. you needed 1200 points to win.
the brettonian army was mostly alot of mostly 6 knight units, 1 larger unit, 1 small unit of peggy knights, some archers and a unit of 15 men at arms.
she played well, took advantage of my magic with 17 dice and multiple power stones not getting any vanhels off when it was necessary to prevent her charges and tie her units up in tar pits. Ross can tell you i was probably looking rather shell shocked at the end of the game from the way the magic made it nearly impossible to get the undead moving.
But for all that, Jess played well, kept to her game plan and did what Brettonians have to do, destroy undead units with massive combat rez. Ive beaten players who screw up and allowed me to distract them from the main Vamp kicking when things look down for me.

Thanks guys for hosting a great tourny. Jess and I always have fun when we come up for one and now that we're back to being only about an hour away we'll have to try to make the trek more often. I second the opinion on the poor mission design leading to so many draws and we'll have to see if the same is true in the semi-finals. Again thanks for a great tourny and we'll keep you updated on our progress next round.

Well guys we're back from the 'Ard Boyz and sorry to say we didn't put up a good showing. I finished 3rd or 4th (0-2-1) from the bottom and Jess finished 1 or 2 over me (1-2-0). Out of the 14 players the event featured 7 deamon armies (and an amazing total of 11 blood thirsters). Deamons took first, dark elves 2nd, and lizardmen 3rd. It was a fun day but very long. The only downside to it is reminding me how much I hate playing deamons.

In CT there was a lot more variety in the armies. There were 14 people and 4 of them were dwarf players. One of the dwarf players came in first (not me) there was only one demon army and 2 vamp armies. Even an orc player showed up(a ridiculous list with 6 casters). there were a few dark elf armies and all of them fielded spearmen including one battle where the lord on black dragon fled off the map. one lizardmen player and a few warriors of chaos players. I did not fare well either but all my games were close i was 0-1-2 but both my loses were only barely victories. Never underestimate a master engineer on a grudge thrower.

Hmm, maybe we should have gone to CT then. It probably would have been the same drive to there as it was to ME! Glad to hear you had fun at least and didn't have to deal with so many deamons.
