So, my Slann is just a rather large (and useless) toad at the beginning? Oh, well, at least there won't be as many flies on the battlefield. Rrrriiiiiiiibbbbbbiiiiiiiitttttt.

I don't think Steve having a naked Toad thing is such a bad idea. lol
Can Wood Elves hero take Spites? Not really magic and not really gifts. Most Wood elves are pretty useless in CC so spites is the only chance a WE hero might have.
Can Wizards take Dispel scrolls?

Slann is a lord level, so at 1000 points, no worries, hes at home in his temple eating flies and contemplating his navel, just as he has for the last 1000 years. Wonder if skinks clean out the lint so he can get a better view?

I realize that WE heros kinda suck but most peoples will. I am afraid the spite (especuially the one that only lets opponenets hit you on 6's might just be overcompensating. I consider spites a character upgrade. The rest opf your army should compensate at lower levels until you get your army/hero upgrades.
The slaan problem is an interesting one. I think I would play it as you need to start with a hero and when you choose to upgrade your hero to lord level you may be able to advance into a slaan. It just may cost a bit more.
Shall we start next week? I will get the army advancement rules up and we could get started!

no, i think it's safe to assume that anything that costs points other than giving them a mundane extra wep or great wep counts as a modification that must be earned

i would also like to add that assassins for DE's should be extremely limited as well, also chaos should not be allowed to take demonic mounts (they only have 1 wound).

Are you planning on doing Warriors of Chaos or a different army?
I was going to do Wood Elves but if you are not doing WOC I might do them.
Brian, I am in to start next week ie everyone else is.
Looks like I have Thursdays off for the next 6 weeks. I can flex time at work to do some Tuesdays and Wednesdays if needed as well.

Just wondering if I need to make arrangements at work.
Ross, I'm still undecided as what to play but I'm leaning Woodies, so if you want to do WOC feel free.

Tuesday night sound good to everybody? I should have everything ready and posted by then. Just make sure you have 1000pt list with the requirements I talked about. I plan on this lasting 6 weeks-1 mission per week that can be played multiple times.
I am playing WOC but dont worry about armies Wayne and Ross... just play what you like!!! This is about fun. It makes sense if there were 3 -4 WOC armies as the time is right for chaos to take what is theirs and ride down to conquer the weakened old world!!!!! (which will be me you know!)

Will assassins be counted as characters for star player points only, will they take up a character slot, will they never earn their toys, or should I just not run one to simplify the whole thing?

My instinct is to count them as characters as far as upgrades but they do not count towards your total character total. When you earn points to give to characters you may buy things for the assassin. I think thats the fairest way to do it. The assassin must start off with no gifts though. Hope this works.
