In the tournament, it was not even close. The Allies kicked the Axis clear out of the desert. Jose and Jamie led the charge with 12 victory points each. Tenete Testeroni and his elite Italian company performed best in a losing cause.
As for the overall winner, it was Jose, beating out Jamie based on strength of schedule. Jose was awarded the Hero's Cup. (Another dagnabbit flatlander from Mass). Meanwhile, Temis was awarded the Flamingo Cup for being the best at not winning the tournament.
In the Gotterdammerung megabattle, six knuckleheads didn't think 8 hours of tournament time was enough FOW for one day and stayed to battle it out in Berlin. The streets were ablaze with burned out tanksby the end. Some 40 in a hasty count. Despite any propaganda that might be perpetuated by the American and German forces, the Soviet forces were the clear winners!! Comrade Hierovich and his gallant tankers won the day, capturing Goring and Keitel. Berlin is Russian! (We held a vote, too!) Now on to Crimea!!
Thanks, guys, for a great day of gaming.
Rumor has it we may be fighting over the beaches at Normandy soon. (Of course, it was the epic battle at the Russian beach head that won the day there too - but that is another story.)

Really, I understood that the Russian landing failed because all their troops got sea sick.

Again, it was a kick ass tournament, and the turnout was amazing. I'm looking forward to our next big brawl. Thank you to Will for the gift certificate, I've already been doing a bit of shopping on the Warstore site. One can never have too many mini's. Also, for the point scoring, what does Strength of Schedule mean?

Thank you to Will for the gift certificate, I've already been doing a bit of shopping on the Warstore site. One can never have too many mini's. Also, for the point scoring, what does Strength of Schedule mean? Strength of schedule From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia In sports, strength of schedule (SOS) refers to the difficulty or ease of a team's/person's opponent as compared to other teams/persons. This is especially important if teams in a league do not play each other the same number of times. Computation The strength of schedule can be calculated in many ways. Such calculations are the basis of many of the various tie-breaking systems used in Swiss-system tournaments in chess and other tabletop games. Before the 2004 season, in the American college football Bowl Championship Series (BCS) [1] the SOS was calculated as follows, where OR is the opponents' record, while OOR is the opponents' opponents record.[2] \mathrm{SOS} = \frac{\mathrm{2(OR)+(OOR)}}{\mathrm{3}} Other calculations include adding the opponent's power ratings and multiplying them by the number of games, or a modification by assigning weights (higher weights for "stronger" teams).[3] Furthermore, several more factors may be added, such as the position of the team in the league, the strength of the team's division or conference, which games count in the formula and which don't (vital in the Bowl Championship Series), the locations of the games (see home team and home advantage) and others.

Thanks for info. I had never heard the term before, and I'm still a little fuzzy on how it apptly applies to FOW. I assumed it was a rating scale to do with the awesomeness of the hats that players were wearing. I had on a Legend of Zelda hat for the tournament, and that being one of the best video game franchises in history assured me of the title of best hat at the tournament. Whereas Will, you had no hat, thus scoring a low SOS mark. I like my version of SOS better.

New scoring system based on Strength of Hat? I like it! What can be stronger than a vintage Carnage "Death" hat!!

Good point sir, I don't think even Link backed with the power of the Triforce could break an authentic original CarnageCon hat.

That's why I didn't play in the tournament. I knew my hat would give me too much of an edge.
