Plan on arriving at the store by 10AM. We will start at 10:30. Three rounds - 600 points in 60 minutes, 900 points in 90 minutes, and 1275 points in 120 minutes. Gotterdammerung megabattle will follow the tournament for those who have the stamina to game on. (Or, as Will puts it, for those who's mama's have not given them a curfew.) We will likely try to get in the first two games and the take a late lunch break.
Tables will be desert themed. Well, at least until we run out of desert terrain. So, if you have desert terrain and don't mind us using it, bring it. For those of who can, Mike and I will likely be setting up tables on Friday night so bring it by then.
Point limits are maximums. No list can exceed the point limit by even one point. For the 600 point list you will need a HQ and only one combat platoon. You will need to meet the normal force composition requirements for the other two lists.
Choose a company from any midwar book (although we are trying to maintain a desert theme but maybe history has neglected those Rumanian Desert Rats all these years). You will have to use that same company for all your lists. You can swap out individual units but must keep the same company.
We will not announce the missions in advance so come prepared for whatever may come up.
Scoring will be by the Victory Points Table on page 275 of the rule book.
We are in negotiations with multiple vendors for prize support. That sounds better than it is likely to turn out. So, plan on the gaming and camaraderie being its own reward and you will not be disappointed!!! Anything else will be a unexpected treat. Besides, we're not charging you anything for this.
We will try to keep it to axis vs ally as much as we can. First round for sure (assuming equal numbers). As we advance through the rounds that may not always be possible.
Due to some family health issues, there is a real possibility that I will not be there for the event. Kudos to Shawn who has graciously agreed to fill in and run the event should I be a no show. I do hope to at least be able to stop by and witness the excellence of the event.
This will be the last time we game together at Triple Play but lets hope that it is not the last time we game together!
Cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war.....
