Hello Generals,
We will be starting a Tank Aces Campaign starting on March 7Th at Tripleplay. The starting points for the campaign will be 500 points.
Tank Ace sheets can be downloaded from the Flames of War website. If you want to try the Campaign and have no tanks. My self and Jeff Mayo can supply, German, American, and Russian tanks.
Playing tank Aces with tanks, involve moving, Shooting and platoon morale checks if you go below half strength. The game will take 1 hour of your time. So come join us for some tank action at Tripleplay on March 7Th, 2014.

I am really looking forward to starting up Tank Aces and I will have a lot of material printed out for use in the campaign to keep track of each player's stats. For any parties interested in participating, please post below and tell us which force you would like to use. As Will said, between he & I, we'll be able to field German, American and Russian tank companies. I'm sure there are some other members of our club that could help out and field British tanks to round out the mix. Here is a link to Tank Aces on the Flames of War website: www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=2590Please post any and all questions, and we'll be on here frequently to get them answered for you. Jeff

Temis, I think you may have misunderstood their posts. They are only saying that, if you want to play and have no tanks, they can supply you with a US, German, or Russian tank force to play. They cannot supply a British force because they do not have the models.

No problem Temis, Steve was right on about our posts. We are trying to draw in new players, and with Tank Aces, it is a fun and quick campaign spanning over the course of several sessions and will hopefully draw a few new faces to the FOW crowd. As such, we'll be providing tanks for people to use, and you my dear, dear Temis, can provide an array of tanks that Will and I do not have access to, such as French and British models.

Actually, Shermans could probably serve for every country in late war!! All those lend lease Ronsons the Russians had. I am sure the Germans even ran a few captured and repaired ones!!

Tank Aces does run in Late war, but I am hoping that in the future we can do some demo games involving all periods of war, including Early so that folks can get a feel for all the tanks of the period. Bring on the Char B, Matilda & Panzer II.

I'm sure you're right Steve. I have always wanted to run Beutepanzer's in my lists, just to have a enemy model on the table with an iron cross slapped on the side. I like that you can take up to 5 T-34's in a platoon in Desperate Measures. And various lists in MW offer the KV1, now that is a beast.

Guess I need to "buy" Guts and Glory on EasyArmy. What are the restrictions on the 500 point list? I will go way out on a limb and say tanks only, lol. Command? Two platoons?

Guess I need to "buy" Guts and Glory on EasyArmy. What are the restrictions on the 500 point list? I will go way out on a limb and say tanks only, lol. Command? Two platoons? Tanks only Steve. Jeff is ordering the tank aces package to run the campaign. I am splitting the cost. I like to say I have my four day hotel reservation for Historicon. Jeff and I are attending the US Nationals Mid-War Tournament at Historicon this year. We are pumped. Jeff beat me at his place Monday night. It was a 4-3 victory for him. It was a great fight . We played at 1675 points in 2.5 hours. The US Nationals was posted at 1485. So now we are back to scaling down our list. Jeff is becoming a mean opponent. We played cauldron and he deployed barb wire in his defense. I was lucky to attack his rear and take out his artillery with infantry and tank destroyer support. Then I preceded to attack his infantry guarding the two objectives. I forced one infantry platoon to retreat over his own barb wire, to only dig in on the the other side. The second infantry platoon was down too two teams defending the other objective. My four M10 tank destroyers lost the battle with a panzer three platoon. So the remaining panzer threes and a tiger gave support to two battered German infantry platoons contesting the objectives. So I battered the two team German infantry platoon with direct fire motor rounds for two turns. That was like sixteen shots to dig out two teams of infantry. It was a no go. The final act of American Paratrooper courage. Time was running out. Jeff is sweating. Two paratrooper platoons Assault one objective across barb wire, while a platoon of paratrooper engineers assault the two teams guarding the other objective. There was two panzer three's giving defensive fire to support the remaining two german infantry teams. The tiger supporting the other flank. All three assaults pinned. The Americans retreat. That bastard Jeff earn a 4-3 victory. I was then walking the shame of defeat from the Mayo den that night. Then only to encounter the Mayo cheerleader squad as I left with my Americans tucked in their bag hoping to escape torture. I remember the Jeff leaving my den under better terms. Will

Man! I am going to visit my son the 8th and 9th in syracuse ny which is 4 hours in the opposite direction. It doesn't look likely that I can make the night of the 7th. However I will be up sometime in march and there is always the off chance that I can come some time during the week to get in a game.
Will is there any other way I can hop in on the tank aces game if I can't make it friday the 7th?
