Looking for a long term RPG group? We are!

Hi all!

My other half and I are looking for others to start-up a long term group. We're kind of out of the loop as far as meeting people due to our schedules but we do have time to do weekly sessions with no problem! Because of this, we've resorted to the forums, and a physical flyer posted at the store.

We're looking for dedicated, reliable, and responsible people who aren't shy about hitting a variety of mature themes posed along the way. If you're new to roleplaying games, no problem! Enthusiasm goes a long way if you're willing to learn the system(s).

Okay, so you might be wondering about what we know... well, here's some that were included on the physical flyer: Cyberpunk 2020, Shadowrun 4th Edition, Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition, Classic World of Darkness (yes, all of it), and CthulhuTech. We might even include board game nights on the opposite day (barring not stepping on the toes of the board game night events at the store).

We're looking to hear from you if you're interested! Don't be hesitant to send an email (or respond to this, too) with when you might be available (Friday or Saturday is what we're shooting for), if any of the systems interest you (or what you might be interested in), and we'll go from there!

Edit: I wanted to add that my responses will be "slow." I'm only able to respond once I get into work currently but will do so from there on. Sadly, I work 11pm to 7am... thus late replies. We do have plans to remedy this issue once EC Fiber enters the neighborhood next month. Thanks for your patience!

Where would the games take place?

I am interested! And while I'd like to know where, I can tell you the following information -

I kind of know OWoD, Shadorun, and D&D (but not the newest editions however).

I am available on Fridays, except I also like doing FNM at the shop, and I may or may not be doing another game on Saterday, but again, this all depends on exact timing.

I tend to play 'skill monky' type characters - bards, util-wizards, those sort of things, where I can out-think my way out of a situation, and I to lean more towards thespian then munchkin.

We're thinking at our place as we tend to run long games (or plan to). We'd love to do them at the shop but I'd imagine, if on a Saturday, shop would close at 6pm and so would the game. So, on that, we'd want to keep the time flexible without the time limit over our heads.

As for location, Thetford Center, VT. It's about 20 minutes north from West Lebanon, and we're easy to get to from the highway.

That's alright! Those are just some of the systems we know, and we're always looking to do others (and we know others not featured on the list, too). All we're really looking for are people who are enthusiastic, and willing to learn the system--enough to start them up at least.

As for the day, we've been looking at Saturday with one other that we've spoke to, and that seems like the best time at current.

In response to your play style, that's great! We're definitely storytellers at heart (of course not withholding the entire system of rules... they're there for a reason!), and we want to convey it as so... drama is delicious.

On a related note, the books I have myself and know are Silver Sentinels ('silver age' superheroes) , D&D 3.5, Star Wars D20, Genius, the transgression (a really good fan book for the new world of darkness about mad scientists), and Ironclaw/Jadeclaw, a really cool unique system that I'd love to show off, but that I want to hold off on until I can run a game of it on my own

Anyways, I'd love to play whatever you have - I want to do a weekly game that actually gets beyond the first major encounter (two months )

That's awesome! We were looking to pick up the Ironclaw: Squaring the Circle book at some point ourselves! If this gets off the ground, then we'd certainly be game for others as well (really thinking on Paranoia on some point, too... smile! hahah). If you're thinking about running Ironclaw/Jadeclaw, the more power to you! We're ultimately getting the group together but that doesn't necessarily toss the power of being the GM to only us. Group effort through and through!
