Just wondering if there are any Battletech players in the TriplePlay community. I've been interested in Battletech off & on since 1995 when Mechwarrior 2 came out. I read some of the paperbacks with varying degrees of interest (some of those authors are horrendous).
I've never played the miniatures game, but I almost picked up the 25th Anniversary box set last year. I saw recently that they are resculpting the minis and going to be releasing a new box set (more info here: bg.battletech.com/?p=4970).
If there are players... what era do you like?
Also, Catalyst just released Alpha Strike at Gen Con. This is a streamlined fast-play version of Batteltech.
Lastly, are there any players of the clix-based Mechwarrior Age of Destruction game? This caught my attention on vacation when I saw there used to be tournaments of this. I picked up a couple of cheap Ebay lots of various mechs, vehicles, and infantry. Warrenborn.com has alot of great stuff for this to view and download including links to the rulebook.
It looks like a great multi-faceted hobby with various games, minis, and fiction.
