Oh, I missed the opportunity for Pearl Harbor themed trash talk... Ahem. I will supply the deadly assault from the sky that will cripple your most important units before they even get to move.

Hmm... how about we do the Boling Seas special scenario? It's in the warzone Armageddon in the Apoc rule book. It would fit the mold of a surprise attack. We just need to determine who's the defender or the attacker.
Also 3500 points alright?

I could do the 7th. 3500 should be fine.
If we are going to do some weird scenario from a book I and most people don't own can you guys PM out the rules before we agree on it please.

Alright here it is, straight from the book.
Scenario Name: The Boiling Seas
The armies: One player team must be a defender while another must be the attacker.
Deployment: The defender side deploys first. They may deploy anywhere on the table that is more than 12" away from the shore line or maybe kept in stratgegic reserve. The Attacker side does not deploy. Their army must be split in two waves.
* First wace consists of all flyers and units with the deep strike special rule, all infantry units that are not embarked on transports and all vehicles that have less than 3 hull points (and any units embarked in them). They must enter from the shoreline table edge on the first attacker turn, deep strike on the first attacker turn or maybe kept in strategic reserve.
* The second wave consists of all remaining units. They must be kept in strategic reserve. The shoreline is the attackers table edge.
Infiltrators and Scouts may not use their special deployment rules for this mission.
The Battlefield: Set up terrain in mutually agreeable manner before battle. One of Armageddons oceans is assumed to lie just off of one of the longest edges of the table. The table edge in question is called the shoreline. If the table edges are equally long randomly select one to be the shoreline. Finally place all strategic objectives in the Imperial Deployment Zone.
First turn: Attacker goes first
Game length: The battle lasts till the time limit has been reached
Victory conditions: The side that has the most strategic victory points at the end of the game wins. If both sides have equel then it is a draw.
Mission Special Rules: Finest hours, divine intervention, mysterious objectives, strategic assets, strategic objectives, strategic reserves, strategic victory points.
The Boiling ses: Apart from flyers and deep striking units all attackers must take a Dangerous Terrian Test before entering the table. Vehicles that fail the test lose one hull point instead of being immobilized.
Surprise: For the duration of the first game turn the defenders may only take snap shots when they shoot, may not charge, treat all enemy as having the fear special rule and may not go to ground.

*Nods*
Alright we'll do that scenario then, also we'll roll off to see who is the defender and the attacker before deployment.

enh... I don't think rolling off before deployment is a good idea. One would assume in the scenario that the defender and attackers would be set before the battle... especially given that one side is assaulting a dug in position. It would make more sense to build a list for either defense or assault, not a balanced list that could work for both. If my drop pods are the issue I could leave them at home and put together a list for the the defenders.

I will volunteer to be a Defender, and I am prepared for your drop pods, my dear Jeremy...

I don't mind being the defender too, but I'm not to picky.
