FROM: TRIPLEPLAY ALLIED COMMAND, GENERAL EISENHOWER
TO: GENERAL MARSHALL
REF NO: 20003, 11 MAY 2013
Local time is now 4 in the afternoon.
There is intelligence of a new Field marshal promoted from the enlisted ranks by the name of Field Marshall Von Jeff. The rise of this General in the later stages of the war has concerning effects on allied commanders. There is some in the Allied officer ranks that he could turn the balance of the allied war effort on the Western Front.. Who is this new Top General?
I will keep you informed.
DISTRIBUTION: SUPREME COMMANDER CHECK
So it is now open to all of Tripleplay to add to this story line who is this new Flames of War General. We can start at his birth. So I hope all can be creative and have a fun time role-playing the rise of Field Marshal Von Jeff.

Having fought side by side with the newly promoted Field Marshal, I have personally seen his use of tactics concerning the plentiful Stug G Assault Gun, and his mechanized troops quickly take to the field, often seizing the initiative away from the Allied hands.
Whispers abound of his battlefield exploits, but to the general staff of the Wehrmacht, he has come out of the Eastern Front fields of conquest, to bring misery and ruin upon the Western Allies. Where will he strike next? Only time and the smoking ruins of Allied armies can reveal his orchestrated plans.

The allied positioned was defended by a platoon of Airborne combat engineer's supported by two tank destroyer platoons of eight tank destroyers. The outcome was the loss of two tank destroyers and a platoon of 5 Panzer fours and three halfracks with two halftacks losing there infantry and one lucky halftrack infantry team escaping the burning track. The remaining halftrack's failed a motivation roll and abandon there infantry. They retreated to the rear with the loss of three tracks under tank Destroyer fire. Will's tank Destroyers are a pain in the butt at Tripleplay. Will My allied Priority air with added close air support and added better rockets. It made the German's spread out his force and hug woods and buildings. My air came in most turns and I trained my MG +2 to hit MGs on arriving reserve units. I will reserve my Priority dice pool on turns of German reserves. They will not get dug in status. I will use my MG +2 to hit and hope they fail saves. Then again if its amour. I will use rockets are bombs.

When air comes in to the picture and infantry are made to spread out. That will give the attacking player infantry a extra advantage. Any thing outside the 8 inch bubble is non-assaulting.

It's hard to tell if spreading out would benefit the attacker. None of my three infantry platoons have any experience in that. In fact, most of my troops were wondering if there was even a battle going on. Someone from the Pak40 platoon thought they saw a tank destroyer, but he appears to be mistaken. When the tardy Flamm Halftracks finally arrived, it looks like everyone was packing up for bedtime.
As far as the early years of Von Jeff, these details remain a mystery. It is rumored he still plays with toy soldier though. Sounds of pew-pew-boom are often heard from the command tent.

They would get concealment and gone to ground in a turn if they did not fire. They would get a save on a three. My tank destroyers would have to get within 16 inches to get a shot at a 6 and beyond sixteen inch range a 7. So it was suicide to send those guys forward to risk them. It was up to planes are the foot guys. I repealed Vintage jeffs initial attack with my tank destroyers. I then with drawled them to over watched my infantry guarding the objectives and hoping for a speedy reserve call up to assault the enemy. Will
