I'm running a playtest battle of Funny Little Wars on the 28th of April at noon in Charlestown. This is a miniatures game using 54mm toy soldiers played on a 20 foot by 30 foot area. Ideally you play it on a lawn but it being mud season that's out. So instead Charlestown town hall. The rules are dead simple and I can have up to eight players. It's fast moving and pretty light. There are pictures of other games at: funnylittlewars-gardencampaigns.blogspot.com/ and at megablitzandmore.blogspot.com/Let me know if there's an interest! Mike

Temis- Good deal, I'm probably going to run some old school scenarios from Charles Grant or Peter Young. It should be cool.

So the game is on for Sunday the 28th at 12-1230ish at the town hall in Charlestown, NH. Charlestown is a cluster of four stores along rt 12. It's exit 7 from Highway 91. The town hall is behind Ralph's Grocery and Heart and Soul Music. It's a gigantic old building and we'll be playing on a 20 foot by 20 foot area. So a bit of a spectacle.

Just as a followup, I had never actually played Funny Little Wars and so Temis, Mike, and Daniel were good natured guinea pigs for the game. It turns out that it's a pretty fast paced grand tactical game, good with giant plastic minis, and it lets cavalry, infantry, and skirmishers behave pretty appropriately. It's light but not brainless. I'd recommend it to folks interested in historical minis and looking for a quick light game.

It was good. We had a big space and got to fire a lot of matchsticks back and forth across the terrain. I definately need to invest in more cannon!
