Steve and I played today. Finnish armor vs US armor. At 2.5 hours it was a 6-1 Finnish victory. We played it out and it still was a Finnish victory but barely. Both of had times when we were on the verge of winning but a failed motivation roll to assault tanks or the timely arrival of reserves tipped the balance back. A great game.

Just remembered that my PaK 40 platoon covering the key objective had a hero in it. Platoon never gets pinned and his gun team rerolls misses. Plus he was a warrior team. Isn't it great when you remember the special rules after the game?

Both of had times when we were on the verge of winning but a failed motivation roll to assault tanks or the timely arrival of reserves tipped the balance back. A great game. The biggest winner is our Flames of War Club. The Club was on the Extinct Species list. Some how we managed to revive our species by leaving the very far reaches of the deepest hollows of the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire to revive the club at Tripleplay. I want to remind all our new Flame of War players that father time is also your enemy in a game of Flames of War at Tripleplay, if you want to compete in our club ranking system. There will be no exceptions allowed about the time limit when the game ends to be ranked in the club. The limit is 2.5 hours to complete a game and it to be scored. The score will be added to our Club ranking list. That includes Veteran players of Tripleplay. So study the Version 3 rule book. If you want to try to learn the rule book as you play and you are the attacker. You will LOSE because you will never complete a game. Father time works for the defender. The time you spend reading the rule book to a Veteran player when he is the defender and he has to defend a Objective for 2.5 hours to win a 6 to 1 decision. That's a easy week for the Veteran player. To be ranked in this club will involve knowing the rules or trust a Veteran player in the interpretation of the rules in the game to complete a game in 2.5 hours. Then if you are right in your rule challenge after the game. Then inform the Vet of the error in the understanding of the rule and detailing the rule on the forum to educate all members of the club. The ranking system is updated every week. This ranking system is Evolving. I want to accommodate everybody's schedule to get a scheduled weekly game included in the rankings. I am thinking that if you can not make it on Friday FOW nite. You can schedule a makeup nite with a opponent. The Tripleplay store keeper will come down and start a time for the game and give a end time for the game. Then the recorded outcome will be emailed to me. So Shawn wants to play his son. Shawn said he could not make it on Friday nites. So if he and his son play a game on another night and play the rolled mission for the week. Then play to the 2.5 hour time limit. Then have a recorded outcome. I would except that as a sanctioned game at Tripleplay. If you are lacking points to compete at the 1575 point cut off and only have the Open fire box list. I would except the result of the game at 1000 points. The mission for this week is HASTY ATTACK page 284. This Mission will expire on Thursday Jan 31, 2013.

I suppose that Jeremy would not mind being the time Keeper, but I think you can not expect all store keepers to do so, further players will have no way of knowing how much time is left. I would suggest that we invest(or if someone has an extra at home) in small clock and with an alarm and set it up and become our own time keepers,[glow=red,2,300] much simpler[/glow] Temis
