I would suggest no more than 2000 points
Also use fire across the volga for artillery (for those who want to) and no Artillery units capable of using Devastating Bombardment Template.
There are now three armys, at least, that can use the large template, we could end up spending most of the game watching them resolve their attacks.

Sounds fun!
The only Saturday that really works for me in January is the 19th. February 16th also works. If those days aren't an option I will see what I can do to make a date that fits everyone.
The only available Infantry list that I have is a German one. I can play either side but if it is Allies I will need to borrow an army.

Temis, to clarify your suggestion. 1) The pdf says max of 1500pts per person. Are you suggesting we do 2000pts each?
2) Do you also suggest that if there is artillery in our force that wemay use the "across the Volga" rules or that we can take artillery, except that which use the large template, and choose not to use the Volga rule. (I'm not familiar with the "Across the Volga" rule).
I only ask about the artillery rules because the force I am considering using could have infantry guns and some artillery so I want to make my list according to what we all agree upon.

Oops, almost forgot. Do Mortar units (Mechanised or foot) count as artillery?

Temis, to clarify your suggestion. 1) The pdf says max of 1500pts per person. Are you suggesting we do 2000pts each? You are correct the PDF does say 1500 points not 2000(I missed that). The problem is of course time, the more infantry the more time the game takes to play. I would suggest that 1500 is to small a number, most tournaments today allow at least a few more. I would suggest that we play 1750. Anyone object and if so why? I will restate what I said on Artillery Artillery may use the Fire Across the Volga(fatv) that rule states that you may postion your artillery off the table. The artillery is assumed to be just off the edge of the table. To measure range you start counting range at the edge of the board. Off board artillery can not be attacked or use direct fire it must bombard. For purposes of this game the artillery will assumed to be off the edge of the table where your Front line plt is placed(if you place your FL on two tables you must chose one table or the other.) I like the rule because it clears space on the Board and saves time. If you chose not to place your artillery using fatv you may place it on the board and use it normally. Artillery that counts as having 9 to 13 weapons may use Devastating Bombardment Template. This will not be allowed in this game(either on or off the table).
Temis

Oops, almost forgot. Do Mortar units (Mechanised or foot) count as artillery? Mortar's count as artillery but....... In the Gepanzerte Mortar Platoon German mech companys their halftracks count as tanks . In Gepanzerte Panzergrenadier Platoon their half tracks do not. Temis

Temis
I think the Germans not being able to use the Big Template of death is Horse CRAP!!!. The Russians can field allot of stands in a Infantry platoon in late war. The Germans fielded allot of arty to slow the Russian Infantry advantage. It seems I am the only German player that owns a template of doom. So I think you are being a Racist Temis not allowing me to use a Template of doom to smoke your Russian Infantry. You are still getting a lump of coal in your stocking. I know you have been on the receiving end of my Template of doom. You might as well say (will) you bought your Template of doom from Tripleplay and you can not use it on me(Temis). Then again I say to your suggestion Sir (HORSE CRAP)!!!!!!!! Maybe a Bastogne slogan (NUTS!!!) Will

Temis We Germans just might as well surrender to General Temis. I will just bring a company of front line German cooks. We will cook the Russians some eggs and bacon. We will tell them you bastards are late for breakfast. Temis infiltrated our ammo dump and left towards Moscow with all our ammo. Then again you bastards are eating Horse Crap with your Bacon and eggs. Will

Oh No Mr., Bill, Will I was not expecting something like that, L0L.
The problem with large template is that to many armys can now use them. V'Steve has enough Katyusha's to use it. And whats even worse from the German point of view the American's can now buy The Calliope, the Devil's Charge p.54. For 160 points the Americans can buy 4 of them which count as 16 guns.
The problem is that if people start fireing those size platoons is that after you fire them, and reroll your misses and the defender rolls his save, and you roll your Fire powers we will eat up a lot of time and end up with little time for Infantry fighting.
As for Wayne's mortar half tracks counting as tanks this is how BF calls it, not me, The Americans are in the same boat with their mortar half tracks.
