Everyone, Temis, Mike, and I are planning on playing Disposable Heroes this Friday, Dec 7. We would like to have some other players. If you have any interest in playing let us know. I would like to try playing the same scenario next month with a different set of rules. What about "I ain't been shot mum"? I saw that mentioned the other day.
For the scenario, I thought we'd try a simple one from the "Blood and Guts!" (American) supplement called "The Factory". The Americans have to hold three objectives (ruins) on their side of the board. The board is split with a culvert mostly across the middle. There are three fields and some walls sprinkled in.
Forces for the Americans are: 1 US Rifle Platoon - 1 Platoon Command w/Bazooka - 3 Rifle Squads 1 M1919A6 LMG Team 1 Bazooka Team 1 60mm Mortar Team
Forces for the Germans are: 1 Panzergrenadier Platoon - 1 Platoon Command - 3 Panzergrenadier Squads 1 MG-42 HMG Team 1 8cm Mortar 1 Panzer IV H
There aren't any buildings in the scenario, but I wouldn't mind adding some since I think Disposable Heroes handles them really well. Let me know what people think. We could replace the three ruins with buildings.
Also, there's only one tank on the board (Panzer IV H). What about adding some light tanks (Shermans & Panzer IIIs) to both sides for added "tankiness"? Do you think that would imbalance the scenario?

mike we were planing to use my 15mm FOW figure the only tricky thing is that I will need to provide some figures mounted one to a base and I will need to modify some of my figures. Temis

Mike, As Temis said, we should have enough 15mm minis with what he's bringing. However, feel free to bring your own as well. I always like playing with minis that I've taken the time to collect and paint. The only issue is tracking individual casualties. Temis is going to have some "spare change" bases as he called them. I think the rulebook mentions using other counters if needed like dice to count down.
ROF comes into play alot with Disposable Heroes. When a unit shoots, it only shoots with half it's members (which is why tracking casualties matters among other things). However, many weapons have a ROF 2 that brings this back up. There also snapfire if an enemy unit moves too close. ROF is halved for snapfire.

For purposes of a trial game there are oodles of ways to keep track of squad strengths. If people enjoy the system then we can rebase a few dozen individual figures, which is fast and easy.
I'm going to focus on I Aint Been Shot Mum so I won't be absolutely expert on the DH rules. Looking forward to playing tho!

BTW, I don't think we talked about a time to start. I was thinking around 6pm. Does that work for everyone?
