Yesterday I attended PAX East and played in the first ever Pax East Warmachine Tournament. We had 15 players and did four rounds of Steamroller 2012 at 35 points with 7 for reinforcements. Every game had objectives and we even had Flank and Radial deployments. We had deathclock for timing. This was the first time I've ever used deathclock. I had one game which I ran out of time. Pax had custom medallions created for the top three players which I thought that was a great touch. At the end of the day, Khador came out on top. I believe it was a caster kill from free strikes by a unit of Uhlans (you would have been proud Poofy) For me, I played Khador and finished with 2 wins (Legion and Cygnar) and 2 loses (Cryx and Legion). During the Cryx game I was able to kill Tartarus very early in the game with my Manhunter charging out of the edge of a forest. The Gun Carriage did alot of thralls clearing, but I ended up losing due to Deathclock (dagnabbit Winter Guard sprays against all those Cryx Thralls). Here's an early round of Khador advancing on Legion... Here's my caster kill later in the game... This was a close one with eSorcha using her last focus to buy the final attack. The Legion caster was stationary (which helped) but was shunting damage left and right. The highlight of the day for me was meeting Jerry Holkins. I even had the chance to ask him what Warmachine Unit he has on his desk in the PATV videos. The answer... Menoth Idrian Skirmishers. SB

They also had the Iron Arena going as well with 4 or 5 really great scenario tables setup. They gave us 15 points for playing in the Tournament which I used to pick up dice. Here's a shot of one of the tables: After playing for 7 hours though, I was more interested in getting something to eat and seeing what else Pax had to offer. The 40K Tournament was on the next set of tables next to Warmachine. I think they had 16 players as well. I have no idea how that turned out. Reaper had a paint-n-take area setup that would have been nice to try, but I didn't get a chance. There was a ton of D&D going on too. When I left around 8pm there had to be 30+ tables of D&D going at that moment. Every table had a DM & 4+ players. I had about an hour to walk around the Expo hall in the morning before I had to find the Tabletop area. I didn't get a chance to go back before they closed it at 6pm. That area had alot of playable games, but they had lines for the lines. Seriously, you had to wait in a line to then get into THE line. Some games had a two hour wait. They must get the ideas from Disneyland. Jeff
