Lets do a winter WFB league. Wednesday nights. Starting Jan 28th and running until March 25th with a final megabattle on Saturday, March 28th. Armageddon - Good vs. Evil. Every game you play qualifies you to bring 500 points to the March 28th megabattle. For Jan 28th bring 500 points and we will kick it off with a mini-megabattle. Then play games of any point level each week after that.
Games do not have to be fought on Wed. or at Triple Play. If other days work, just post here and see if you can link up with someone for a game. Myself, I can only make Wed. night every other week at best. After the Superbowl those Sunday afternoons are long and dull for the rest of winter so I could do a few Sunday games.
Games can be at any point level you and your opponent so choose but use 2000 points as the "default". So bring a 2000 point list every week but be prepared to play at other point levels if that works for you and your opponent.
In keeping with the theme, try for good vs. evil matchups if possible.
This loose structure keeps anyone from having to do all the paperwork for a more formal league.

Disturbing reports from throughout the "civilized" world point toward one improbable thing - the forces of evil may be uniting. While incursions from evil forces acting independently have so far eventually been repelled, although often at a terrible price, the thought of all the evil races working together is terrifying.
Now a Council of Nations has been called for Jan 28th. Each civilized race is ending an emissary protected by a small army detachment of elite troops.
Although the civilized races suspect an alliance, they do not realize the full extent to which the forces of evil have put aside their differences and united with the single goal of destroying what their enemies call the civilized world. When their emissaries and guards are ambushed and massacred, they will know the truth and that will be the beginning of the end - the road to Armageddon and the destruction of civilization.

Well, unless you plan to drive me I can't do Wednesdays, but I should be at the store and up for a game most Saturdays. Not the 31st, though. That's the Pre-Ard Boyz at Game Castle.

So, I did indicate that the final Armageddon Megabattle event would be on Saturday, March 28th. Does a Saturday work or would Sunday the 29th be better?

We have a generous and anonymous offer to fund a grand prize at the ending Armageddon megabattle in March. We will hold a raffle drawing with all megabattle participants eligible. The prize will be a battalion box of the winner's choice!

I'd be up for this. Not sure which army (Brets/Chaos/DarkElves) will come out to play however. Also, please remember we are open until 10pm on Tuesday (even though the site says 8pm) so you can get in a full size game. I'm available to play on Tues, Thurs, and Friday just let me know in advance what size you'd like to play.

As much as I'd like to balance it with a good army, at the speed i paint it would never happen in time.
I've long been toying with starting Empire again.
Most wednesdays work for me.

Ben - IF you want to use Empire, I have a mostly cavalry Empire army that is well over 2000 points. Not painted up to your standards, but you are welcome to use it. 40+ mounted knights plus pistoliers, outriders, some spearmen, galloper gun, cannon, Dogs of War ogres, riflemen, etc. These guys haven't been used in a long time and are itchin' for a fight.

Terrible news!
Bretonnian troops manning watchtowers along the border have reported large columns of smoke and flames rising from the forest of Athel Loren....The forest is burning down!
Actually this is just and excuse so when I show up with my largely "just primed black" wood elf army I can say that they were burned fighting the fire.......
I am a terribly slow painter and like to do a good job....150 wood elves in 7 days is a little beyond my capacity ;D
