I'm considering bringing out my Dogs of War, but a question. Do you mind if I go official army list or the new fan made one? Also how many points are you feeling up to playing?

I would like to play with you! I have a sisters of battle army I am building. If it's ok for me to use proxys for an immolator, HQ and heavy weapons then you can count me in I've never played 6th so I won't be much competition, but we could play a couple games and I guarantee that we will have a good time. Let me know

Sounds good I'll be there around 11am. 6th edition leveled the playing field so the word competion no longer exists in 40k, all the armies are evenly matched IMO now with none excelling at any one aspect like they did.

I will be at triple play on Sat morning for some 40k. If anyone is up for a game I should be relatively free. I have one game planned and I think my opponent might not be able to make it. Rob might even show up with his stuff, I need to convince him This is also assuming nothing is happening at triple play to use up the tables. I didn't see anything eating up the 15th, but I didn't look super hard. I will be planning to bring my nids, but might bring the girls as well. (I am noticing Loupis post) haha Loupis I am not sure what makes you say that, other than maybe no one plays competitively at triple play anymore.

no one plays at triple play anymore. Edited, and more accurate. Why is this? I'd like to hear from the local community. It's so strange that 40k, tournament or pickup games, has died off in the past several months.

Well this may get me banned from the forum or the store but because you asked....
For me it was a combination of the holidays and stress at first and deciding to take a break from 40K for a while to focused more of fantasy and a few other systems I'm trying out. The Green Mountain boys tournament took a bit out of me and I greatly enjoyed the WHFB games. While I was recuperating I found this store that was closer to me than to T-Play in Keene and it has a very active fantasy and 40K scene going on, their limited on the terrain/broads but since I can take my fantasy army out more often, have people more receptive to new games, then I have business to attend in the south and finally the fact that the rewards system does pay a bit better than t-play (.10 cents on the dollar) I've been playing down there more often and so has Discordian.
I try to get up to t-play more often since they have a bigger range (especially the paints and magazines which I love) and with the releases of IG coming up I will be stopping by more often then. But for my main fantasy gaming, though in march I'm hoping to get in a big game of Fantasy later in the month, I'm going to Keene.

I could probably play a small game sat. I don't have many points sold of most of my 40k stuff. Except my scouts and things. 40k for me has lost it's fun factor, the new rules just don't do it for me. I love assault armies and mechs with the intro of hull points and over watch they have just killed it. Glancing a tank to death? That doesn't make sense! Did my die hard veterans get scared to death? Over watch sure it makes sense why couldn't I pull my gun and shot someone running at me, but the whole unit get to shoot my stuff? I'd say the maybe half the unit.
I love nerd games and spend more money then I should on them. I enjoy the painting and usually sell them later for a loss. I don't wanna upset anyone but other the Tony and Shawn, I find the store lacking the welcoming atmosphere. most of the time I don't even get greeted, maybe I'm just not liked who knows.

The reason I'm asking is so we can assess the situation and hopefully do something about it to draw you guys back into the store. How many players go to the Keene events? Do you think they'd be willing to travel up here if we ran more events in store?

6 including myself, though soon it will be 5 since one of the players is moving to Hawaii , yes I would be interested in playing more up at the store if there were more events... I'm interested in running an Fantasy event in April, on the 5th most likely at 2K points. I can see about drumming up support on Dakka Dakka and at the local game store.

Unless you are asking about more recently. Scenes been dead for a while last I checked though.
