That looks amazing. How big are these "mega battles" do you think?

GW will let us run the Lucky13th campaign. Ben is going to talk to the rep to found out the details.
It looks like the campaign would start in early Feb.
Is this something you all would like to participate in?
If so, I think we should postpone starting a league until we get the lucky13 passports and details from GW.

Well, if we go all out with this it looks like for the next 6 months our monthly cycle is as follows:
Sunday 1: Modelling Event - Apocalypse Objectives, Vehicle formations, troop formations etc. Perhaps in conjunction with normal pickup games.
Sunday 2: Lucky 13s Megabattle Scenario - PDFs downloaded off the GW website
Sunday 3: Store Competitive Event - The usual Rogue Trader tournament or similar event
Sunday 4: Apocalypse Pickup games - Everyone comes to play 3000 vs 3000 games (either at 1v1, 2v2, or 1v3 etc.)
Repeat
The first megabattle scenario looks like a good IG vs Orks bash with 1000-2000 points per player.

Also. Looking at this Regiment, what do folks think would be good doctrines for them?
I'm thinking:
1) Nightsiders - Gives units Acute Senses to represent their tunnel-dwelling nature 2) Die Hards - I doubt much scares them 3) Veterans - They've cleary been campaigning enough to earn it
Then it's a toss up on: 4) Light Infantry - Infiltrate to represent tunneling, move through cover because they operate in confined spaces, and probably wouldn't rely much on vehicles. I think the option to take a sniper rifle should be replaced with a Demo Charge as it's a mining tool. Drop Troops - Represent the squads tunneling up in the heat of combat
5) Ogryns - Many instances of these abhumans being used in mining work gangs throughout 40K fluff. Special Weapons Squads - Usually have the kit to represent combat engineers
I'm hoping I can borrow Ian's Cadians while he's playing Army to do the special Apocalypse games. I think his models in their current paint scheme would make an excellent Mordant 13th for our scenario games.
