It's always been one heavy weapon per squad.
And with Combat Squads it doesn't matter anyway. Put the Melta Gun and Powerfist in one, and the Lascannon in the other.

that's true but I liked being able to field more heavy weapons with the amount of marines that I have. and i miss tank hunting imperial fists.

Awww, come on, brand spankin' new 130 page codex with tons of cool new stuff, and you're still whining about the bad stuff? Pffft ... stupid smurfs... j/k - I myself was mad when they nerfed my chaos boys the same way, amongst other crappy chaos nerfings.

I was always the opposite. I alwys used the doctrines to drop the heavy weapon, and use an extra assault weapon.
But you gotta look at the bright side ross. Troops are now required to win missions in 40k. You now have the opportunity to field 12 scoring units. Very difficult to wipe all them off the map.

I was always the opposite. I alwys used the doctrines to drop the heavy weapon, and use an extra assault weapon. Oh totally, me too. If you want Heavy Weapon toting infantry you're better off with Devastators. the Veteran Sgt has a signum now! Hooray! I am going to miss Cleanse and Purify though. Two Melta guns in a squad is nice... unless you're playing against Sisters and can't take down an Exorcist with four of the dagnabbit things. I personally love the new Codex though. My Iron Hands aren't out of the picture. Master of the Forge is my new favorite unit in the game. Are they making a model for that, Ben?

That's cool, man. Let me know! I've still got my Techmarine HQ and 6 Dreadnought slots. I mean, I could probably convert something out of my Iron Father model I picked up, but I'd rather not run the risk of ruining him. that's true but I liked being able to field more heavy weapons with the amount of marines that I have. and i miss tank hunting imperial fists. I'm sorry. I went off topic without addressing this. The number of heavy weapons in Tactical Squads hasn't changed. I don't understand what you're saying here.

You MUST have 10 marines in a single squad to even have access to any heavy weapons. Before you could field 5-man squads with heavy weapons in it, not anymore. I haven't even seen the new codex yet, but I knew this was coming based on what I saw in the Chaos Space Marine and Dark Angel codices. Well, can't say I knew, but I am unsurprised to see it.

But with Combat Squads you can still make 5 Man Squads with whatever you want in them. Nothing has really changed other than letting you have 12 scoring units, which is awesome in 5th Ed.
