This just in!
Last night, off of the coast of Antarctica, a small British force was ambushed by a Prussian patrol. The Prussians successfully scanned the entire British force and in reaction to this hostile move the British engaged. A quick and violent exchange of bullets and mines took place before the Prussians turned their last remaining battleship around.
While the British fought galantly and managed to take down two heavily armored Prussian airships, based on the abstract concept of "victory points" analists say the result of the skirmish should be considered a resounding victory for the Prussians.
--------------
So Chuck and me fought the first mission in the campaign. We rolled up the reconnaisance mission, which gave me, as the attacker, 300 points vs Chuck's 400 points. My force conisted of a Battle Ship and two of the new Prussian airships, Chuck fielded 6 frigates (those are the little ones, right?) in two squadrons of three, and three of his new flyers. At the Recon level of missions every squad gives you 2 planes that have to be deployed in legal squadron sizes, so I got 4 fighters vs Chuck's 5 bombers and 1 recon plane.
Since both forces were really small this game played really quick over 6 rounds, with all our looking up rules we settled things in under two hours, I believe. I had a great time at this smaller scale battle level.
Chuck scored 130 victory points, which gave him 2 recon points.
I scored 175 vps, plus another 50 for fully scanning both his model classes (75 + 25 / 2) = 225 vp, which gave me 3 recon points.
Neither one of us fielded a fully painted fleet, so neither one got the 3 extra recon points for that.
I won, which gave me 5 recon points.
So, current score:
Chuck: 2 recon points
Robert: 8 recon points
Rest of you: 0 recon points
I am looking forward to one of you guys challanging me shortly!
