I am interested in Trollbloods. I hear that the warppack is a good start. Anyone suggest a good solid caster to begin with? My first heavy? Anyone have TB minis for sale or trade?
I am set on my mercs. I am finding Gorten to be very frustrating with the 4 move and the 5 focus. His feat is awesome but the 10 inch control is killer. I still like the dwarves but I am not sure if they are good starter faction.

The warpack is an excellent buy, because pMadrak is a great caster that is often used with certain strategies. And don't be discouraged by the lack of a heavy beast. Impalers and Axer are great beasts that you will find a use for!
The standard first heavy for Trollbloods would be the Mauler. He's solid, killy, with a great animus. Also the Earthborn Dire Troll, who is a beatstick that can shoot across the board and mash something like it's nothing.
I haven't tried many of the casters, just epic Doomshaper and pMadrak. I like Doomie, and I can't wait to get my hands on Mulg the Ancient mwa haha!

Madrak is a good caster to start with- solid stats/abilities with no major weaknesses. Overall I agree with Tony- Impalers in particular are definitely worth including in most lists.

Nice! Thanks for the advice. I like the fluff and mini's. It is unusual that I choose the good guys. I like the fact that they are tough cookies. I Look forward to painting the warppack!
