Last month our brave band of heroes started off on a high note. They quickly sent the first lieutenant the Siren fleeing for her life. They then quickly stormed through three levels of a dungeon and upgraded their meager skills to slightly less than meager. Things were not looking good for me as the heroes were building a healthy lead in conquest points.
Full of themselves they decided to take on “Puff” the new Lieutenant. Soon things went very badly for the heroes. Puff mercilessly slaughtered three of them and stomped on their corpses. In the last moment Matt’s hairy Yeti character escaped by swimming off the side of the sea map. I guess he found the ship again later? Anyway, the heroes lead in conquest has evaporated. (I think I lead by three now)
So will the heroes avenge their epic defeat? Or is this the beginning of the Overlord’s inevitable march to victory? Shall we find out at 10:00 on Sunday?
I assume that people want to stick to the 10:00-4:00 time frame. Monday is President’s day and I have it off so if anyone wants to stay a little later, it will work for me.
Thanks,
Andy

My Yeti is still trying a series of shampoos and conditioners to get the seawater out of his hair-slash-fur, but he (and I) will be there.

Well this session really highlighted the effectiveness of upgraded monsters. When I had all beasts (a monster type) to choose from the fighting was pretty brutal. This session involved the heroes storming through an island level to obtain 2000 gold from a rumor.
Level 1: The Toilet Bowl Setup: This was on the island board. There was no boss to this level just a whirlpool in middle that the heroes had to navigate past. Hero Deaths: None Highlight: Me drowning my own hell hound in the whirlpool.
Level 2: The Money-Grubbing Meat Grinder. Setup: Best level ever. It was full of upgraded monsters that beat the hell out of the "heroes." The level boss also stole money from their treasury every time he hit them. Too bad there wasn't something to spend the stolen money on... Hero Deaths: I think 5 or 6. Highlight: After Matt died for the third or fourth time he did the pose that William Dafoe does in the movie "Platoon" after the choppers leave him behind. Robert was playing the role of the evil sergeant who betrays him.
Level 3: You call yourself a dungeon boss? Setup: This was the first rumor level that the heroes ran into. It was slightly larger than the average dungeon level. I think the purpose was to give me more space for my Beastman to die. Hero Deaths: None Highlight: Robert using his annoying web weapon to stick the level boss to the wall. Oh, and he never escaped the web and just stood there and died.
Anyway another fun session. Arun showed up near the end but he got upset we weren't all in character and were fighting instead of negotiating.
