Hey I'm new here Just joined to play Flames of War on Fridays. Anyway Just noticed the board game section and saw some posts about Diplomacy! Thats only my favorite board game ever! I didnt see anything this month about it so I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a game? Brad PS - Sorry if this post is un-necessary! I admit I didnt look that long to see if there was much about it.

Another Brad - snickerdoodle on the forum - has tried without success to get a Diplomacy game organized at the store. In January only he and I showed up. It was a favorite of mine in college. I don't think I have played it since then. Of course, back then we had to paint out our orders on the cave walls using symbols and our armies were rocks and sticks on the dirt floor.

Well Steve, would you be interested? I'm sure I have a friend or two I could drag along. The only problem would be finding time that works for everyone.

Yes, I would be interested. Finding the time is my problem. I highly suspect that snickerdoodle Brad would be interested as well.

You know, if you do like the game. I play on an online dip site called playdiplomacy.com It's free to register/play. But some things you have to pay for. If you pay for an account it lets you do things like use the special game types, join more then 5 games at once etc etc. Phases change every 12, 24, or 48 hours depending on the person that sets the game up. so it can take just a few minutes a day to play. And the gameplay is very easy. Just food for thought Plus it's much easier to find players!

Unfortunately, some of us who live in the boonies still have to rely on dial up.

Great!
We should have just about enough then! So far the roster contains...
Old Steve New Steve Brad (1) Brad (2) Andy Arum
So thats 6 of 7, if we can get 1 more great if not then Ill just see if I can get a friend to go.
Incase you are unaware the game will take at least 4ish hours to finish. Its a lengthy game especially because of all the talking involved.
Also, I know it's my post... but if someone else wanted to head this up and organize it that would be great! I dont know everyone or their schedules so it might be easier for someone else.
