After our game the other night there were a few open questions: 1. What happens when a major line comes out and it has already been completed? If one player completed it he gets the bonus immediately. If more than one player have completed the line no one gets the bonus. In the base rules all major lines are actually available at the start of the game and do not get shuffled in. We played the variant (this variant was the way RRT worked, but they changed it)
2. Railroad Tycoon was also played with one more full turn after X cities are empty.
A thing we did wrong (which very well might've Chuck won the game): you need to subtract $1,000 from your income for each bond you have issued. Dividend.

Now that you mention it...I remember the $1000 bond rule. We have been playing Tycoon wrong for years with the end game. It was the way I was taught that you had until the end of the turn get back under the empty city limit. Guess I never checked the actual rules..... Still had a lot of fun! Rod

I had a blast! This needs to hit the table again soon!
Also, you are correct: once the end game is triggered it can't be stopped.
