So you do not roll to see if the Valkyries come out of reserve? Simply because they have been designated to have a unit embarked in them?
Similar situation: SM squad, embarked in a (non-dedicated) Land Raider. You only roll one die for reserves, for both of those?
I am rusty on the rules, so I appreciate the discussion. My recollection is that you roll for each unit that is in reserves. If that is correct, then the platoon would arrive with all of the Valkyries that successfully entered from reserves on the same turn, but you would roll separately for each of the units.

For any embarked vehicle it is one reserve roll. But alpraheim does something crazy that we're not sure about

that is different. this is a platoon specific rule. the Valks can be put into reserve along with a unit riding in them, but then they are subject to the normal reserve rules that the Valks can obey.
to get a unit into a non dedicated transport and in reserves you load the unit into the transport off board and bring them in together. but they dont get any special bonus.
the valks are not part of the platoon so can not make use of special platoon rules, either negative or positive. inorder to use them you have to fall back onto the normal rules for reserves.
Now if Al-Raheim had a rule that impacted upon the entire army, you could make use of it with the valks. but since its limited to only those units in his platoon you dont get fast flyers zooming in from the side with his platoon.

Yeah it only talks about in the rules a dedicated transport and it's crap inside being able to outflank on the bottom of page 94. Don't know if that helps.

A valkyrie can outflank with an infantry squad inside, despite the infantry squad having neither scout nor infiltrate (the two requirements.

In that case your using the Valks rule and not AL-Raheim's rule, so if there are any differences you have to follow the normal outflank rule and role for the valks seperatly from the platoon since your going off the valks rule and not ARs.
Is it legit to seperate out parts of ARs platoon so they dont arrive with him? or does the entire platoon have to come in together, in which case you cant put them in valks. Since you do load into independent transports before you roll the bones.

I'm inclined to say, Sure let em ride in on a flank. Here's my reason why... and it doesn't have anything to do with the game. In real war, there are no rules for great commanders on what men they send in on a flank. I say it's the tanks and their drivers that are fast enough to get onto a flank or perhaps there is just some giant bushes just off the game board that are hiding the tanks. Either way this Al-Raheim dude played your commander for a fool, so play it out. If they want to drive in off a flank let them. If you loose cause of it then so be it, no one said war was fair and had rules... just look at Razorback Spam... or any other "Cheese Factory Tourney List" Okay, so not really a valid or stable point but possibly a Fun game to play out. Maybe some kind of a fun house rule would be making a leadership test on your HQ to see if he's wise enough to spot said tanks off the board hiding behind the bushes, and if he makes the test then IG player can't have those units inside or something. If he fails the leadership test then IG player comes in on the flank with all that crap inside.
