What's all this, then?: An Apocalypse mega-battle at Triple Play on Saturday, November 27th! Store opens at 10:00am, so let's try and get started as early as possible.
How do I join the party?: Basic entry fee is 3 cans of (unexpired) food, which will be donated to a local food pantry.
What if I want to give more?: You can! Look below this post for a list of benefits you can gain in the mega-battle by donating additional food.
What's in it for me?: Well, aside from helping your fellow man in the holiday season, there will be a special prize for the winner(s).
How do I make army?: Each player gets an 1850pt list for basic entry from a single 40k Codex of their choice. Must be a legal list using basic Force Organization.
I have so much food! Please take it?: Here is a list of the extra bonuses you can earn if you donate extra cans to the cause.
1 CAN (cumulative)
*One unit from another Codex
*One Apocalypse Datasheet unit (these can be found in the apocalypse books, or on GW's website)
*One Apocalypse Stratagem point
2 CANS
*You may ignore the Force Organization requirements
*You may have an additional 150pts (cumulative)
3 CANS
*You may take a super-heavy vehicle

So couple questions. How many pnts are we talkin? Are there going to be teams envolved? Stuff like that is what im wondering about. Trying to see if its worth building my gauss pylon now or not.

I don't know for sure (and Tony can chime in here) but usually apocalypse only works with two sides. I would think we'd have to run teams. Maybe random assignment? Or team captains picking, perhaps? Oh, I think it's worth it, provided you can bring 6 cans. Pylons are NASTY. Brian could probably tell you more. |

There will be two teams, but they won't be assigned until the day of the event.
And Brad, I was under the impression you owned 2 Defilers already...

I have some experience with pylons. They are full of awesome. i killed a baneblade once in one shot. It was lucky but man the expression on my opponents face. It gets three highpowered shots and an improved arc flux. It is immobile but I believe you can deepstrike it first turn if you want. Its worth building and not too hard either.
I will be there with my doomsday machine FTW.

hmmmm.... so if i donated say 6 extra cans i could take a pylon and that... its from another codex. lol  been trying to find an excuse to make my pylon, just hadnt found one yet but i think i just did. |

Hope you have better luck with the Doomsday Device Brian. We built one into a megabattle a year or more ago and it didn't doom anyone as I recall.
The best part is that it opens the door for a lot of Dr. Strangelove quotes:

I would greatly appreciate if everyone broke down which extra bonuses they gain and how many cans they will bring to do so. This cuts down on the amount of bookkeeping I have to do.
