Good man! I can probably help you out with some decent rares if you want to borrow them on the day.

Bump ahead of this weekend.
We WILL be allowing IG3 proxies for this event, as long as they are good quality printouts and in sleeves.

For the second consecutive month, we saw 10 players gather for the L5R constructed tournament at Triple Play, a number made even more impressive by the fact that several people planning on attending had to drop out at the last minute.
We ran four rounds of Swiss, cutting to a top four. The standings after Swiss were as follows:
1st Chris Medico (Mantis Dragon Guard City) 4-0 2nd Mark Armitage (Spider Fields of the Dead) 3-1 3rd Rob Davison (Phoenix City of Tears) 3-1 4th Malcolm Latvala (Dragon Last Step Castle) 3-1
5th Gary Farr (Lion Great Halls) 2-2 6th Chris Root (Lion Venerable Plains) 2-2 7th Jason Riedinger (Crab Shattered Peaks Castle) 2-2 8th Kevin Donegan (Crab Shattered Peaks Castle) 2-2 9th Shelby Armitage (Crane Seawatch Castle) 0-4 10th Devin Towne (Mantis Seven Seas Port) 0-4
In the semi-finals, Rob's attempt at early blitz ran into two Swift Counterattacks (one for each of his Consumed by Five Fires!), and a combination of Utugu no Oni, Claw and Shell and Scouting Far Afield sealed the game for my Spider Big Oni deck. Chris Medico's follower deck belied his pre-tournament decision to take out all his honour meta by still managing to overcome Malcolm's non-dueling Last Step deck. In the final, Chris proved once again that my deck cannot beat Mantis by quickly and efficiently rolling me.
Everybody present received at least 2 promo cards and 3 rares, with the top four also splitting $50 in store credit. 2-Issue Imperial Assembly subscriptions were given away to players present without IA accounts, and Chris Root won an extra 10 promos as the highest placed player taking part in their first Triple Play tournament.
Our next monthly tournament will be on Saturday September 11th, although this may end up as an Empire at War release event depending on when the set is released. Details will be posted soon!
Thanks, Mark
