Ladies and Gentlemen.... let's get ready to ruuuuuuuuuummmmble!
So Tom and I were thinking of playing our final league game on Sunday (the 5th) at 3-play. I know it says that the store is closed that day on the front page, but I'm pretty sure its out of date. IIRC, they are open from 10-2. That's when the final battle of the league will finally wrap up.
Be there, or miss the most epic 40k game in the league.

Droofus, come on. Don't you think you're underselling this a bit? Let me try...
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. This Sunday you will be afforded the privilege of witnessing the greatest contest of our age. The fate of the Galaxy hangs in the balance as Space Marine meets Ork in a no-holds-barred grudge match, the sheer brutality of which is sure to make you question the existence of a loving God. Not recommended for people with heart conditions. Women who are nursing, pregnant or may become pregnant should talk to their doctor before witnessing this battle. Possible side effects include mass hysteria, shock and awe, and the inability to ever watch another 40k battle for the rest of your life.
It's a league Championship, but it's also much more than that.
Two Warriors will enter, but only one will leave.
Space Marine Smackdown or Orkpocalypse Now? Find out on Sunday, 11 AM Eastern Standard Time/8 AM Pacific at the only venue worthy to host such a horrific display of savagery:

Yes the shop is indeed open...however, there is one flaw. Sean is now running a sportscard show the first Sunday of each month downstairs. I'm not sure what or how much space he uses. Just wanted to warn you in advance.
Jeremy
btw - Tom sold it much better!

Just wanted to warn you in advance. Thanks for the heads up. What days does Sean work? I'll give him a call and figure it out. No doubt. I think that he channeled his inner Don King there for a moment.

Wooo Hoooo....party at Chuck's! Darn, this Sunday doesn't work unless I make some serious arrangements.
Sounds like a good idea in the future if not this weekend.

Yeah, that's cool of you to offer Chuck! I'll wait to see what Droofus finds out from Sean though...
I don't want to be responsible if word gets out to the public about the event and your tables are flipped over by hysterical Japanese schoolgirls!

I talked to Sean a little while ago - we're on for Sunday! He said that he won't be taking a whole lot of room and could easily spare one table. We're good to go!

Then Triple Play will be the site upon which Droofus shall be the recipient of my onslaught of pain.

If all goes as planned, I will be sipping drinks by the waterside from my sister's deck in Maine this weekend.
If not, then where else would I be but there?? Cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war!
Besides - if the two of you draw then doesn't the third place finisher become the winner???

I think we should just have a VP tie breaker.

I think we should just have a VP tie breaker. Which, funnily enough, is what it came down to. Tom tied the game on objectives in the 7th (!) turn and after some quick calculations we determined that he beat me by around 200 victory points. The planet belongs to the Hands of Vengeance Space Marines! Congrats, Tom! Grubbynutz is a little under the weather right now (having a bit of a headache from the explosive bolter shell detonated on his helmet), but he'll be back. The Waaagh may be leaving LaGrange, but only for now! P.S. I promise that a more complete battle report is forthcoming.
