Tank Aces rules for play: 1st round/week 1: 500 points build -Tanks only force, can use no other units. American TD's are only exception -Jeff Jeff are you certain about that ? Both the British and The Russians have Tank destroyers(American ones) that would also cut out the security section for Will. Making the the TD just a lightly armored tank. Your statement is at odds with what is written in blood guts and Glory which states that you can use SP artillery platoon too, but no staff, command, or infantry observers. Further if you look at the Arsenal section of any FOW book, take Devil's Charge as an example, and listed under tanks for the Germans are tanks, Infantry support vehicles, SP AA, Recon, and Armored cars. In FOW a tank is not just panthers, tigers and shermans it is anything that in a Arsenal under tank teams at the top of the page. In anycase I Friday this week is out too for me

I heard news the store is closing at the end of the month. So if this is true. I think this tank ace campaign might be dead from the start. I just rather fight a 1485 point midwar battle to get ready for historicon.

Yeah, sad but true although there are efforts to try to keep it going somehow and somewhere.
Regardless, I would still like to get in a game on Thursday Easy86. Earliest I can get there is 5:30 unfortunately. Does that leave enough time for us to game?

There will need to be a complete overhaul of the business model of Tripleplay to make a store viable in Lebanon. It will take money and a perspective to take the store off the beaten path of high rent to a store of destination. I coin the phrase from Temis. Its no easy task. Will

And those of us who are FOW/historical miniatures gamers have the month of March to figure out a way to keep in contact with each other easily so we can still continue to game together. Maybe just exchanging e-mail addresses would be enough.

In FOW a tank is not just panthers, tigers and shermans it is anything that in a Arsenal under tank teams at the top of the page. In anycase I Friday this week is out too for me Temis, It says exactly word for word in Blood, Guts & Glory for forces that can be taken; "Players cannot use Mechanised, Infantry or Fortified companies in Tank Aces. The one exception is that a player may field a Tank Destroyer Company found on page 32 in Tank Aces, even though it is a Mechanised Company. When building your force, you do not have to purchase compulsory platoons. Treat all black boxes in the Company diagram as grey boxes instead. However, you must always choose at least one platoon from your HQ, Combat, or Weapons platoon. When the campaign starts, you will have access to HQ, Combat, and Weapons Platoons. As the campaign progresses, you will gain access to the rest of your Company Diagram." And looking at page 32 of the book, one see's an American TD company. I therefore went out on a limb and just assumed it was American TD's only. However, as you said, British & Russian players use American equipment for TD's, so in the end, it would just be the same equipment used anyways. But, one could throw a different country label on it and it appears it would still play the same. Also, Your Force in Campaign Turn 1: "You may spend up to 500 points on your company with Company HQ, Combat & Weapons Platoons. You can take any platoon listed as Company HQ, Combat or Weapons Platoons. However you cannot take Support Platoons at this stage of the campaign."Forces are then expanded for rounds two & three which are increased to 700 & then 900 points respectively. I hope this clarifies all questions regarding what can and can't be taken. Who is actually going to be playing Tank Aces? It appears at this time that Will & I are going to be playing 1485 points for Friday. Vintage Steve & Steve, will you be playing Tank Ace's? -Jeff

Maybe just exchanging e-mail addresses would be enough. Agreed, I would very much like to stay in touch and continue to play games. The biggest challenge that we would face is finding the space to actually game in. I have room at my place for only two players really, however Will I think could accommodate four players. Perhaps, depending on who is on Facebook, we could create a group on there. Or there are plenty of other web resources we could utilize to keep a tally of players listed and for them to be able to easily get in touch with one another.

I can accommodate up to four players easy. I can set up another table for six players. I am in the process of making or buying three 4-6 tables as quickly as I can upon hearing the news. I am all for keeping flames of war alive in Lebanon. I just received most of my hedgerows today. I am still waiting for two more boxes to come in the mail. Will

American TD's are only exception" adding the word "companies" clears things up. Also you have neglected to mention that latter, when there are more points, on you can add support units . This led to my confusion sorry

Well, I have rectified all the particulars of Tank Aces, at least for the first week of play. And in my original post, I did state that players will have access to more points and increased forces as the campaign progresses. However, I hope that we see progression each week of Tank Aces until the end of the month when the store is boarded up. Until then, we'll keep the tanks rolling, and shells tolling.
