;D BF has announced that they will print a new edition of Red Bear, in it the cost of Russian armor and other units(like 37mm AA) will be reduced back to the point it was before V3 came out. This should happen before Christmas. Read all about it in these PDFs: www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=4182

So True, but you know may be able to have enough that you can get a flank shot on them before they all die. Also they have have reduced the cost Katyusha a great deal 8 of them with extra crew for 260 points and allowed them a skill test after shooting to get rid of smoke.

I guess building a Russian tank horde list will be my next reason to spend more money on this game. The polish tank company list is done and ready to fight.

I'm excited for the Red Bear release as well. Now, all you loyal member's of the Red Hoard can get bountiful tanks for my hungry Jagdtiger's to chew on, ;D. In any event, the more WWII related material for FOW the better. I'm not too keen on the more modern takes as of yet.

So it will be my king tigers munching on your Russians very soon. Will

General Will, Your King Tiger's have been in storage for so long, I figured you have forgotten how to use them. We'll see if you can figure out the subtle nuances of German battle strategies. Oh and don't worry, with the new Red Bear and Desperate Measures coming out, I will have a few Russian lists, but many, many more German lists to pummel your weakling American forces.

Ah but wait until you see an Egyptian tank Horde 41 T-34/85 and 53 tanks total in a list for under 1500 points. ;D

Mmm, so far I'm not too keen on getting into another war era. I rather like the WWII setting, and want to stick with that. Plus, with the amount I've spent on the current setting, I shan't be picking up any of the new listed models. But, I would not be opposed to proxying for some games.

I have not been interested in the Vietnam or Arab/Israeli versions...until...I realized they came out with the Jordanian army. I was 14 during the 1967 war and followed it closely and own a couple of board wargames on it. I was really interested in the Jordanian army. I was also a US Army Arabic linguist and an interrogator in the early 70's and we ran training scenarios where I played the role of captured Jordanian soldiers. (I was with the 82nd airborne and on alert when it looked like we might have to intervene to save the Israelis early in the Yom Kippur war.) But, I need more time to game not more armies!!!!

Steve, I had no idea you served with the Army in the 82nd Airborne, thank you for your service. That must have been a very interesting period to serve, especially with the possibility of having to help the Israeli's. I would try the Fate of a Nation book out, and proxy some armies for one of our sessions, it would be a lot of fun. But, I personally have no interest in Vietnam, everything else is on the table though.

Yeah, who could tell looking at me now!!!
I was not jump qualified so it is not as intense as it sounds. I was in Army Intelligence and assigned to the 82nd. The combat elements were mostly raring to be deployed. Us AI guys were more on the scared sh*tless end of things.

To be in US Army Intelligence is very impressive sir, and something to be proud of. And jumping out of planes into a combat zone, probably isn't all that its cracked up to be.
